So What Happened?

yes, i do use conditioner. I know that she goes outside at daycare, and takes naps there too. but she has her own stuff, like pillows and blankets there, and her own sun screen. Its only on the back of her head, just above the neckline. i just give her a bath about an hour ago. and combed out skin, its has teeny pin holes in the skin, and there about a dime size maybe a bit bigger.

I'd try not washing your 3yo hair so much, maybe cut it down to just 2 days a week to see if it's their natural oils that are being depleted by so much washing. It could also be the type of shampoo, maybe switch brands/types etc.. to see if it helps.

My hairdresser recommended tea tree oil shampoo for my oldest son b/c his scalp has a tendency to get dry too. Just be careful not to get it into her eyes. It has really helped my son.

Do you use conditioner? It's time if you are not.

It could be eczema if its patchy. My husband gets it in his scalp. Is it itchy?

try using a shampoo that is moisturizing, not sure if there is one for kids, but that is what my hairstylist told me and it worked for us. i tried the anti dandruff shapoos and no luck, also tried olive oil too. I would start with the olive oil and see if that works then go to the moisturizing shampoo.

My kids had "cradle cap" for a long time, which is basically dry skin under the hair. The doctor recommended a dandruff shampoo which breaks up the dry skin. Just make sure to not get it in the eyes.

I'm a bit of a naturalista however, my pediatrician instructed me I could you a little bit antidandruff shampoo on my infants cradle cap. But like I said I like to keep it natural so I put Virgin coconut oil on my kids skin and it works well, to stop flaking and itching. I use it on my postpartum stretch marks and it stops the itches. Hope this helps. Oh, you can get it at Kroger in the organic section, Wholefoods or Sprouts.
