With all the craziness in the world - this is so small potatoes...however - mine broke so I'm in the market for a new one...

Okay - my hair broke - it was a Conair Ceramic that I loved!!! I went to the store to find it again - didn't see it.

I liked mine for the different settings as well as cool setting and it was quiet for a hair dryer.

Soooooo....what hair dryer to you use and what do you like about it?

Thank you!!

So What Happened?

thanks!! I'll have to make a trip to Ulta.

I can still "use" mine. The handle broke (it collapses) and the wires are exposed...my luck would be - well - not so good on that one.

My CHI hair dryer is awesome........I feel a distinct difference especially when I ever use another dryer.....I have had it for over 5 years now so it was worth the investment.......

Lol... Yours.

HOWEVER... Ulta has about 100 hair dryers all plugged in and ready to turn on and try. I break my hair dryers every year or so, and JUST found this out!!! Headsmack. That's where I'll be going next time.

Super Curly (that I blow out straight), I need a LOT of air moving (and don't want a jet engine next to my ear), heat, and cold shot that actually works.

I've found that even year by year the 'same' model changes how well it does those three things, so I usually end up buying/returning quite a few in order to find the 'one'. (Sally irks me, just let me plug it in, here!!! But no. Home, return, home, return. Huzzah Ulta!!!)

I have a lot of luck with conair, but have also had ToolScience, GVP, and YellowBird, and Revlon. 9x out of 10, though, when I drop them on the tile, I need to change brands or models to 'match' the awesomeness that I killed with gravity!

Conair Ion Shine!

3 temps - hot, warm & cool as well as 2 speeds, high & low.

Not too noisy either...

Well, I love the differnt tempature settings and speeds... low speed is much better for styling because it doesn't blow the hair off the brush!

Happy Shopping!

I heard Trump was marketing one. :p A Chi I believe, that is supposed to be soooo quiet.

I kind of like the excuse of drying my hair not to interact with people. :) Mine is an ION ceramic, I like it, hasn't done anything mean to me. Got it from Sally's beauty.

I totally get what you're saying!! It's like when I was younger and would find a bra that fit - my Mom would always tell me to "buy a couple because when you go back to buy more, they're not going to be there"!! Oh my gosh was she right!!!!

Anyways, I feel your pain - I had a little single-cup coffee maker that just died and of course it's kind of old and I can't find another one just like it at the stores BUT I did find one on Amazon.com!!!!

I have a little hair dryer - Conair 1875 model that I like; simple and does the job.

So maybe do an internet search; you never know! If you like it a lot it might be worth the shipping cost!!

Good luck!!

Hi Cheryl,

I have a 1500 watt Vidal Sasson hair dryer that I love. It has the cool setting, medium, and hot. It also has three speeds on it. I've had my dryer for a long time, so I'm not sure if they still make it or not. Hope this helps. I think I purchased the dryer at Walmart.

Babyliss, it's a professional dryer. I got it at a beauty supply store and it's even perfect for 6 years now. Higher heat, faster motor, dries faster and more evenly. I used to buy cheaper ones that overheated and broke down after a year or two, so this one has been worth it! It was $80 I think with a hairstylist friend's discount.

Ask you hairdresser to order you a professional one like the hairdryer she uses. It's a little more expensive (around $100 I think) but it will outlast most other dryers, is lightweight and has all the power and settings you could want.
