Hello! I have two small children who are very much looking forward to Halloween this year. Does anyone know of some cute and creative online Halloween dessert recipes that I can make with them?

Worms and Dirt has always been a hit with my daycare kids and they can help make it too. All you need is chocolate pudding, gummy worms to put into the pudding and Oreos to crush and crumble on top. Fun, gross and messy-the kid trifecta! Have fun!

Oh we love Halloween! And my girls and I get creative every year depending on what we are going to be for halloween is the theme of our food. This year we will be witches so here are some ideas.
Bat Eye juice
Green hawian punch
mix in cherrys and cut pineapple chunks into triangles.
Mix in the cherries and pineapple into the juice the cherries are bat eyes and the pineapple are bat teeth.

Muddy Worms
Get choclate pudding and crush oreos on top place gummy worms in the mix.

Oozzing pimples
Use cherry tomatoes and cut out one side and squeeze the seeds out.
Use cream cheese to fill the cherry tomaoes and place upright on a dish.

Spider cake
Bake 2 full sheet choclate cake and cut out in the shape of a spider body. Use cherry filling to give it the gutt effects when its being cut. Cover in chocalte frosting and use licorish to make its leggs. They have eye candy that you can use for its eyes. Get creative with the filling since its the most exciting part of the cake for the little ones.

Brain
boil a whole coliflower. do not cut up. once its ready place it on a dish and put some red food coloring on it then eat it as you like. It's like eating brains except your really not.

A friend did these spider cupcakes last year when her oldest was 2 years old. The two year old was able to do a lot of the decorating. She used red shoe string licorice instead of black. Have fun making your treats!

the best place to check for kid friendly recipes is Taste of Home. try it, you will love it.
I had made cookies with my then toddler daughter and had a blast, I just had store bought cookie dough and let her cut out and decorate cookies with halloween candy and or sprinkles. is fun! or try making spookie ghost cupcakes, any cupcake, topped with marshmellows and chocolate chips for eyes and mouths. we often made vegetable spiders or other scary looking snacks with fruit and crackers. let them create their own spookie version, the result will be amazingly funny and healthy! hope you enjoy your time with them in the kitchen!!

Worms in dirt...

Crush up Oreo cookies and mix with chocolate pudding until you have the consistency of mud. Spoon into small styro cups that your kids have already decorated. Add gummy worms, candy corn, pumpkins, twizzlers, and anything else spooky and gross. Kids love it!

Halloween shaped sugar cookies with icing is always fun to do with kids. I have a recipe that is called Vanilla Cookies that is very easy to make and uses very few ingredients. There is a chocolate cookie variation that you can make too. I usually do one batch of vanilla and one of chocolate. Then make all different colors of icing and let the kids frost how they like. Yes, they will of course get frosting all over their hands but it is so fun and they will love it! Here's the recipe:

2 1/4 cups - All purpose flour
Pinch of Salt
3/4 cup - Unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup - Granulated sugar
1 - Large Egg
1 tsp. - Vanilla extract
Frosting, sprinkles, candies

Chocolate cookies: substitute 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder for 1/4 cup of flour

1. Mix flour and salt in small bowl, set aside.
2. In large bowl, mix butter and sugar on medium speed until fluffy (about 2 minutes). Mix in egg and vanilla. Add flour mixture in thirds on low speed. Mix until well combined.
3. Divide dough in half, form each half into a large ball, wrap with plastic wrap, refrigerate 1 hour.
4. Roll each ball between wax paper to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into shapes. Repeat with remaining dough.
5. Bake at 350° for 7-10 minutes.
6. Remove from baking sheet, let cool. Decorate as desired.
