My DD had that some time ago. After her high fever, she was pretty rundown for a day or so, but other than that she bounced back pretty quickly. I think it was worse for me than it was for her :-)
Hope your daughter feels better soon!
My daughter recently came down with the mouth version of this viral disease. Does anyone else have any stories to share? He had a high fever all day Saturday and ended up having a seizure. It was the scariest thing in my life! She is feeling much better. I guess I have to sanitize everything

I THINK my 3 yr old son had the same viral disease just a few months ago. First symptom was a super-high fever. Got up to 104. In the course of one week, we took two cold showers, alternated between ibuprofen and tylenol every 3 hours, I slept on the couch with him for 2 or 3 nights b/c he was scratching his feet and hands. He also had a sore throat. (The physician's assistant who we went to said he had strep - um no. She was wrong.)
I am so glad to hear your daughter is much better. I did not have to sanitize the whole house. We had the grandparents in town that week of course. I think we all just kept our hands clean while he was sick and then afterwards of course too. But I did not wash all of his toys and books or anything like that. He's been great ever since.
That's been really going around. Im sorry y'all ad to go through that. My kids have had it and it wasn't too bad for them. Its a virus so as im sure you've been told it will have to run its course. Just keep the fever meds going and it will pass. Bless you mama
It just has to run it's course - but he will get better.
Seriously try not to get it yourself. When my daughter got it - I got it. It was horrible. I thought I was going to die. But I too got better in a few days.
And keep away from standing water - like blow up kiddie pools and puddles. If you put one child in a blow up pool - no problem. 2 or more is when you get it (but it's still rare - so swim and splash and have fun).
Hand, foot, and mouth disease made it's way through all four of my kids a couple of weeks ago. 3 of my kids started with fever, and developed some spots a few days later on their hands and feet. It wasn't that bad for them at all.
My 2nd child, on the other hand got really bad sores in his mouth and couldn't eat for days. He was living on Carnation Instant Breakfasts, yogurt, ice cream, and milkshakes. He couldn't even eat soup. The information I read said cool/ cold is better so we stuck with that. The pedi recommended gargling with salt water, so he did do that too. I think it was about 4 days of that before he could finally eat solid food again.
Glad your daughter is feeling better :)
When our daughter got it, the rash on her feet and hands were pretty obvious, and she was running a fever, but it wasn't too bad.
However. My husband and I both caught it and it was terrible! We could not shake it. My mouth was a mess and I could barely eat for a month. The doctor had to put me on antiviral medication and was using a wonderful concoction (prescription) called magic mouthwash.
Both of my kids had it. My son got it around 2ish, I think. He had the fever and his gums were so swollen his teeth were nearly covered. It was very painful. He was on a liquid diet for a couple days. My daughter got it a few years later ... close to his age. It was painful for her too, but not as bad as his was.
I feel for you and your daughter! It is tough to go through, but it will get better.
