Has Anyone Ever Had a Numb Corner of a Big Toe?

Has anyone ever had a numb corner of a big toe and if so, what does this mean? I know something with the nerves, but any specific diagnoses or tips to help it?

Also, are you supposed to be able to spread your toes out the same way on both feet? I know, very random, but I can do a better job on one foot and wonder if this means there is an issue. Thank you very much.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Was actually supposed to say just numb, not number :)

My best friend had numbness in her toes that was caused by a pinched nerve in her back. When she got that solved the numbness went away. Hope that helps you :)

A more numb corner of a big toe?
Not personally, but I know women who wear tight and/or very pointy shoes that have issues.
Could be a corn or a bunion or a plantar wart.
Ingrown toe nails are usually very painful - not numb.
My toes spread out fine and the same on both feet.
If you're worried or uncomfortable, talk to your doctor about it or go see a podiatrist.

Yes, I've had it for several reasons.. One , when for example I've taken a spin class and I press too hard for too long on my feet .. Secondly, after having done Jazzercise and Zumba on non-wooden surfaces, I now have a couple of Neuromas on my feet (inflamed nerves) Neuromas can cause numbing for sure and if they increase in size, they not press on nerves which can cause numbing but also ache like crazy. Because mine were giving me such foot pain, I eventually did do Cortisol shots. However, if you can avoid the shots, then do so. Thing about Cortisol, while it may relieve some of the inflammation, it can also causes the foot to stiffen up.. I really have to stretch out my feet and massage them... Nowadays, it's about managing the pain and just not making it worse.. For me, this means NO more Zumba or other types of exercise that make my feet hurt..

you may want to visit a Podiatrist... good luck!!

The corner of my big toe has been numb as long as I can remember. I think God just forgot to put nerves there! ;) I've never been particularly worried about it, just curious as to why. And in terms of spreading toes, those are also unequal. I also can't wink my left eye. But again, this has all been true my whole life. If this is a new development for you, you might ask your doctor.

My whole foot is numb but that is from damage to my back. Probably from your shoes. I know I would not even give it a second thought, but that is just e.

First, evaluate your footwear....are they pinching the toe?

Second, wait about a week to see if it goes away, if not, see a regular doctor. I have gotten numb toes, but it's usually related to shoes where the circulation gets cut off.

I have a friend who noticed something similar with her feet and after many months was diagnosed with MS.
Do not fool around. Get to the doctors and don't let them fluff you off.

No, my toes do not spread out the same on both feet. And I've had numb feelings in spots on my toes and my fingers. I just rub them a bit and the feeling comes back.

I'm not sure why you're concerned. Our bodies are not static. They are constantly changing. If the numbness on the corner of one toe or spreading your toes differently causes you to have difficulty walking I'd see the doctor.
