We had a bug that effected us all differently. My husband and I got the bottom end, my 3 year old vomited once and my 10 year old vomited about 5 times. It can happen.
Hi my daughter told me her stomach hurt then she threw up just once. That was Friday morning and did not vomit again. At bedtime Sunday my midde child told me his tummy hurt. He threw up once more than my daughter but we just ate dinner one hr ago.
Every single other time my family was vomiting. They vomited mult times. Is there a mild stomach virus that you only throw up once going Around?

Vomiting once leads me to believe that maybe they just ate something that didn't agree with them, once they barf they feel better. Probably just a touch of food poisoning. Try and figure out what food was eaten that was similar from Friday morning and Sunday night. Once we got ill because my husband cooked and didn't know he wasn't supposed to cut up raw meat and then use the same knife on the veggies for the salad. Live and learn...
The flu normally presents with a fever and other symptoms. Eating something your body disagrees with usually only involves vomiting until the offending matter is expelled. Sometimes it takes more than one barf to get it all out.
I think so. It's happened once or twice with my son. He in fact is going through a bug right now. Friday night he threw up and hasn't since, but he's had acidic diarrhea :( poor thing. I hadn't realized he pooped, and he was in that diaper for two hours! His bum is raw! Poor baby. But yes, I believe so. It's happened to me, where I threw up once and then not feeling well for several days.
***I'm now sick!!!!!!!!!
Yes, there are viruses where you are sick but don't vomit all that much; however the child is still sick and must be kept home from school, preschool, everything. My daughter had it a few years back. Vomited once, kept her home, 23 hours later -- though she was fine, ate great, energetic -- she suddenly vomited again. I called the doctor and they said the virus going around at that time just acted like that. It does make it hard to know when to send kids back to school, but the rule of thumb is a full 24 hours without vomiting (same as for fevers) before going back to schools.
About 5 years ago I had exactly that. I became increasingly weak and nauseous over about a 30-hour period, then threw up once and felt fine afterward. I don't know whether it was a virus or possibly some bad food from a party.
My son did this last week: started to feel ill around dinner, threw up at 8 pm, fell asleep, had a mild temp all the next day and was a little under the weather, but by the following night, was eating his normal foods. It was odd. He did have a low temp for another 24 hours (like 99) but acted fine by 24 hours afterward.
I had it last week where I only threw up only once - my son got the same thing a day later but threw up multiples times, as did my daughter. I think each person will react differently to the same bug.
I had this about 3 years ago. I hadn't been sick in about 10 years then one evening I felt awful and threw up supper and had one bout of diarrhea. and then I felt fine once more. No one else was sick. We'd all had the same food. My friend told me it was probably rota-virus. The symptoms matched and he said people tend to lose their protection from it roughly once every 10 years or so. Once you get it your immune system will protect you from it for another 10 years. It's annoying but once every 10 years is not so bad.
