I am looking for an amazing nasal aspirator that actually works without torturing your child, has anyone tried the new battery powered ones that say they completely clean out the nostril in one shot?

Hi M.,

The only decent aspirator that I had for my daughter was the one that was sent home with her from the hospital, it was a big green one. It was misplaced a couple times and I quickly learned to hold onto it like gold, because replacements that I bought were worthless. I would contact the hospital and they may even give you one.

Kind Regards,
TRUDI

We have one from BeBe Sounds that plays nursery rhymes and it's a life saver. We use it often on our 16 month old and have even used it on our 1 month old.
I ordered ours online, but I recently saw them at Babies R Us as well. I think it's worth the cost, especially when your litte one has a stuffy nose and they won't let you help them!
(One suggestion is to replace the batteries frequently to maintain the suction power.)

Never tried it and never heard of it. But here is what i have done in the past. When babies cry i would wait till they take a breath in and then with a cloth diaper in hand would close their mouths and there it came out the nose.
This works way faster than the oud squeegee

I tried a really nice one, but it didn't work. My daughter was so scared of the sound that most of the time she wouldn't let me near her. And when she did, it wouldn't get enough stuff out. I actually found a really great aspirator from Walgreens. It is Nuby brand and it comes w an ear cleaner too (which I haven't used, but the nasal thing is EXCELLENT) It works better than all the other ones I've tried. And it's a snap to clean.
