I have flown AirTran several times and have no complaints. I actually prefer them over AA.
Have you ever flown on an AirTran flight? I'm looking at flights to Orlando and right now, they have some of the best prices I can find, but I'm a bit leery because I've never flown on them before. I'd like to hear what other people's experiences with them are before we book our flight. The next best ticket deal I can find (non-stop) is on American and it's $100 more per person (including taxes & fees).
Thanks for your feedback about AirTran. I think we're going to book with American because their flight schedule works better for our itinerary. But, I'll definitely keep them in mind the next time.

I have flown them several times. They are okay- similar to AA in respect to "it's all business", not super friendly, as some other smaller airline companies.
I would check on their status, though, as far as bankruptcy. I have to fly in May and am worried if I book to soon, the airline company may not be in business by May.
We personally stick with American. Southwest is a great airline but a pain in the rear because you can't go very far non-stop. Non-stop is a priority for us.
Another reason we like American is the convenience at DFW. We try to figure out where our flight arriving back home is scheduled to be and we park at that covered terminal and gate area. Of course, that does not always work out with so many gate changes. IF we arrive at another terminal than where we are parked, DO NOT go to the luggage area first....FIRST catch the inside tram to go to where you are parked THEN go get luggage. Saves a lot of time!!
We are at DFW often and have found this to work well and AAir is worth it. If you are thinking it...no, we do not work with AAir, hubby is a platinum flyer though...lol
Best wishes! We are flying to Orlando in March!
Yes. Several times. Not the best or roomiest, but usually very cheap. You can get some great fares on their website, even for last minute flights.
My mother and I have both flown AirTran several times now and it's worked out quite well. There are sometimes more flight changes - I've had two changes instead of one a few times. Also, I had a run-in with a flight attendant once. I'll spare you the details, but I sat and stewed quietly so as to not get thrown off the plance, but that was a personality issue, not AirTran.
I have, but it has been at several years ago. Everything was fine & dandy. You may find some useful information on seatguru.com.
