HCG Diet - Ferndale,MI

I was just watching the news and there was a story about the HCG Diet. I'm wondering if anyone has tried it and if so, did you do injections or drops, and most importantly...did it work for weight loss? I had never heard of this until about 30 min ago and have been researching it online since then! The closest clinic I found is in West Bloomfield, MI, however, I also noticed that you can order HCG drops online from many different websites. My concerns, of course, are if their products (online) truly are what they say they are from these different websites. I'm intrigued, but want the facts! I realize that some may be critical of “fad” diets, but please be kind in your response because, as I said, I am seeking facts about this diet! Thanks!

What can I do next?

I have a colleague that did it twice and lost about 45 pounds. We'll see how the maintenance goes, when she was on the diet, it was less than 500 calories/day and no exercise.

I also call on internal medicine physicians in Palm Springs, CA that are being very thorough with blood work, office visits and they are very hands on.

Weight loss is 90% what you eat and 10% how often you move. Do yourself a favor, if you're serious about wanting to lose weight join weight watchers and learn how to eat the right way. I started in january with over100 pounds to lose and as of this morning I've lost approximately 68 lbs. YOU are responsible for what you put into your body and only YOU can make weight loss happen effectively and have long term results.

I have two friends who did it and both lost over 30lbs.....it seems very unhealthy to me. One friend was only allowed 500 calories a day! CRAZY. I have heard nothing but unhealthy reviews from doctors, the only ones promoting are the ones selling it or doing it. I would not do it. The BEST way to lose weight is to up your fiber and your protein, they magically work well together. Lower your calories to 1500 per day, eat 3 meals and 3 snacks a day. I lost 10 lbs that way and barely exercised. Exercising would have been even better. You can do it on your own and then it sticks. If you use these diets, as soon as you falter or stop the diet, you gain it back. Good luck

Dr. Oz did a special on this recently. You can probably find the info on his website. He definitely said not to buy anything online and make sure to do it with a doctor's guidance and supervision.
I personally think it is a very bad idea. Eating healthfully with even moderate exercise will bring a person to a normal weight unless there is an underlying health problem (which is rarely the case.) I have had two very serious health conditions that caused excessive weight gain and managed both times to get back to my ideal weight just by eating properly and exercising.

Dont buy the drops online. You can buy them at GNC. I have known several people that have done it, it takes a lot of discipline and its hard to keep the weight off. One of my good friends is currently doing it, I have lost weight at the same rate as her and Im doing weight watchers, and I eat WAY more than 500 calories a day. I have lost 20 lbs in two months. Good luck!

I did it and only lost 20lbs. I did it through a friend of mine who is a naturopath, and got the drops online. The brand is Professional complementary health formulas. It isn't safe for everyone, I'd consult a naturopathic doctor!

Please be careful.

I was using products from a company who claimed to be all natural. However, there was a Chinese herb (natural) that was a stimulant and put my health at its lowest point. I'm so glad I got off those products, thanks to a dear friend who educated me.

So the point I'm making is changing the way you eat, exercise, anddrink water (half your weight in ounces), is 75% of the formula. The other 25% is what I have. They are products which contain Leucine, which is an amino acid that repairs and retains muscle.

More lean muscle mass, results in less cravings, more energy and the metabolism moves faster naturally.

Dieting is about getting to your goal weigh, but even more important is maintining your goal weight.

If you would like to talk about it, contact me and we can exchange numbers.

Hi L.---These diets do not work for long-term PERMANENT weight loss. Yes, you may lose quickly in the short term, but unless you change dietary habits and exercise regularly...FOREVER, the weight will come back. Eating a diet of mostly fruits, veggies, whole grains, legumes/beans, nuts and seeds (in moderation)...90% of calories, WILL get you to a weight that your body is supposed to be at. Exercising regularly, and strenuously, will help you to drop weight faster. You can only lose 2-3 pounds per week safely. Anything more, like the Adkins or this HCG diet, causes the body to use muscle as fuel as you do not consume adequate complex carbs...which is the ONLY fuel source the body uses...unless it is starving and then the body cannibalizes our own muscle.

I work with many forward thinking healthcare professionals as well as nationally known fitness professionals. I would be happy to share my resources with you so that you might make a fully informed decision. Good luck...D.

You might find this article helpful: http://www.livestrong.com/article/477209-hcg-myths/. I have a neighbor that lost nearly 30 lbs in 1 month, but over the next 6 months gained almost all of it back. Be wise in your research before trying this one. It has some health risks attached that might surprise you. Wishing you health! Midwife Mom

I hope you will consider Weight Watchers. My insurance covered a lot of it and I've lost 108# over 2 1/2 yrs. You learn how to eat right and keep it off and you eat regular food.
