So What Happened?

I have had three ultra sounds two weeks apart and now im 11 weeks with a healthy heart beat and saw the baby just moving all around in there. They did find out i had low progesterone and thats what might have caused the past miscarriages so now im taking vitamins and progesterone and all seems well.

When I was pregnant my HCG levels actually were so low that I took 3, Yes 3 tests because I KNEW I was pregnant and all 3 came back negative. It wasn't until almost my 4th month that my lil Ninja( We tell him he was really good at hide and seek even beofer he was born) showed up. So don't worry too much. I did have some complications eg: toximia, and th umbilical around his neck ( which is quite comon and had nothing to do with HCG levels)but my son is 12 years old and doing just fine. Good luck and I'll send you prayers.

Your numbers are probably fine. You are already at 7 weeks, so they shouldn't be doubling any more. I'm no doctor or nurse, but I've had similar numbers that far along. Your numbers are very high. I had a friend who, at 7 weeks had numbers only in the low hundreds. You'll just have to sit tight until they can give you an ultrasound if you're really concerned. Congratulations!

I'm pretty sure HCG is only supposed to double in the beginning. In fact, levels start FALLING around 8-10 weeks. I wouldn't worry!

I am not that familiar with that specific test. But there are so many tests that could indicate a problem but don't always. Talk to your doctor about the specifics of this test. I hope you can get enough info to put the worries to rest. I ended up talking to a genetic counselor at my OB's office before deciding to skip the amniocentesis. Even at 37 the risks for complications of amnio were higher than my risks of a problem being found (they did some previous tests and no red flags came up).

My first PG my numbers did not double, however they were high like yours. I think they double in only 80% of women. I was very nervous and my MD thought it may not be a viable PG, but it was. I have a 2 y/o son. Good Luck
