my daughter has been complaining of headaches for a few months, we first went to her ped about it around christmas and have had 2 more appts about it with no real answers. The last time we went to discuss the headaches we were told to keep a headache diary, and in the month since then it's been almost every day. A few days ago she woke me up at 6am saying her room was "all spinny" and when she tried to sleep in my bed she said my room was spinny too. (i assume she was dizzy). She also felt dizzy the next day and came home from school.
She has gone to the nurse at school weekly, and has come home a couple of times because of these headaches.
I am taking her to the DR again today about it since the dizzyness is an added symptom and the headaches have increased in frequency. I think the dr is going to have her see a nerologist next, and she did mention the nero would probably have her do an MRI which she would need to be sedated for (!).
Any suggestions, been there's, or questions I should ask our doctor?

Really easy things to rule out- low blood pressure, and dehydration, as exhaustion. See if any of these might be applicable.

Well, I've been there, but it was due to a known cause. My youngest son had these symptoms, but we knew it was from multiple concussions. I assume your doctor asked if there was any chance she suffered a concussion? If it turns out to be something related to her vestibular system there are good specialists in the Twin Cities and physical therapy is an option. My son went through PT at Gillette Children's Hospital, but there are other good options too and I know somewhere in the Twin Cities there is a dizzy and balance center. Good luck and I hope it's nothing serious. There are a variety of things that can cause these symptoms, including ear problems, autoimmune disorders, etc. It almost sounds like migraines too. I think seeing a specialist sounds like a good idea to get some answers.

How is her school desk set up. Could it be from inproper posture? (a friend of mine had headachs for months it turned out to be how her desk was set up. Is she doing more school work on the computer.

Sounds like you're jumping through all the right hoops. An MRI is probably a reasonable next step. I'd like to mention that my 6.5yo grandson had an MRI of his head after a bad fall, and did not need sedation. It took a long time, and he was able to be patient and calm. I'd want to ask further about that part.
Don't forget to look at low blood sugar, lots of times that is how my kids act when they are low. Especially in the morning.

If the neurologist doesn't come up with something, you should consider seeing an Pediatric ENT.

I have not read any other answers. I want to say that allergies as in sinus problems and water in the ears need to be ruled out before anything else. What was said about her ears when they were checked by the pediatrician? Is she on any medications currently that might have a side effect? Animals in the house that can possibly cause an allergy? Clogged sinuses and Eustachian tube drainage can both cause the dizziness and headaches! If you're not getting answers from the pediatrician go to an ENT or Allergist. Sometimes water in the ears cannot be seen by traditional methods, so the ENT can use their equipment to check for this she may need some type of decongestant or allergy medication. Good luck!
I second that it could be a sinus issue my 8 year old was having headaches and that's what his was,also the ears I agree need to be checked.
