Healthy Family Meals... Is There an Online Plan or a Cookbook That I Can Follow?

I have to admit, I have been struggling with providing healthy foods for my family lately. We are both so busy, get home late, generally uninspired when it comes to cooking and have been eating way too much junk food and take out.
I used to be so good about cooking healthy and providing healthy snacks - but life has gotten stressful and it has gotten the better of me... and all of our to go recipes have become kind of boring.

I was hoping that someone knows of an online service that helps you plan healthy family friendly meals or even a cookbook or diet plan I could follow. I know, I know I don't really NEED a "plan" but it would be SO helpful not having to go and collect recipes from all different corners of the web (for which I have no energy or motivation).

I would not mind paying for the service if it is worth it.
Thanks!

I know I"ve said this before, but the Martha Stewart website, has great... ideas and recipes and her "Everyday Food" recipes are great, and easy and tasty. I used to subscribe to this magazine. Its fun/good/easy.
Yes, I have used these before.
And it is good and it is easy.
The website also have menu plans/grocery lists etc.

I'm not sure if you can find it online, but Family Circle and Woman's Day magazines have monthly meal calendars. Also, throughout the magazines, they have all kinds of recipes for so many other things.

I don't mind cooking, but I get so sick of thinking of what to make every day.
The magazines have lots of ideas and many of them make use of left overs. With things planned out for the month, it also helps with your shopping plan.

I haven't checked to see if you can get the menus online, I like buying the magazines because they have good articles and craft ideas as well.

You should check it out.

Best wishes!

I have not signed up, but I have a friend who LOVES e-meals. They have several options and she is on a healthier fare option. They give you grocery lists and recipes. She knows exactly what she is making every night for dinner and says she has not had the same dinner twice for over a year. Her two kids and husband seem pleased with the selection.

Good luck.

I never have been able to use a sight like that because there are so many things I don't eat, I find them useless. However one brainless change for my family was to skip the morning cereal for a fruit smoothie. Now days we add kale, walnuts, and chia seeds too. We use a mix of fresh and frozen fruits, and sweeten with juice, dates, or ripe bananas. It does take a good 10 minutes, but it was one thing I could do daily that makes a huge improvement in our health. I don't have to think about it. I keep the ingredients stocked at all times so its a brainless and automatic healthy meal for us. It travels well too, we bring them in the car all the time. You do need to invest in a high end blender though (Blentek or Vitamix).

I., This is not necessarily a diet cookbook, but I do find that this cookbook mostly uses fresh ingredients and is very family friendly. Almost every recipe I have used, the family loves or I receive requests for the recipe from others. Anyway, the cookbook is Our Best Bites, you can check out their blog www.ourbestbites.com to try their recipes for free. While some of the recipes are fattening, I know that the gals often blog about weight loss and calorie counting, so there are plenty of healthier dishes, and most of them are reasonable calorie-wise as long as you watch your portion sizes.

I started using the website "The Six O'Clock Scramble" and I've been happy with it. It uses in-season produce as the basis of the plans. They are simple and homemade, have variation ideas, and aren't all fancy-pants made of ingredients I don't have on hand. I also love the arrangement of the grocery list that accompanies each week.

You can do a two week trial, but while you're there you can print off more plans than just the current ones.
