Heard Anything About Little People's Country in LaGrange?

I'm researching daycare facilities that offer preschool as well. I don't know of many in my area - Western Springs - but I have found that this particular daycare offers Preschool and Kindergarten programs. I've checked with DCFS, and they have a clean record (at least for the last 12 months.) But I don't know of anyone who has used them. My daughter is 2, and nowhere near being potty-trained (so some programs aren't even applicable.) I've been home with her since she was born, so I'm hesitant as it is with any childcare. Any input (either on this one or another place that offers similar programs) would be helpful.

What can I do next?

I have not heard of Little People's Country, but, have you looked into Kensington Schools? They have a facility in the Rec Center in Western Springs, a facility in LaGrange and also one more in LaGrange Highlands. I do know that only the LaGrange location offers newborn through Kindergarten and all the rest offer newborn through preschool (4). My 7yo was at the Western Springs facility from age 2.5-5. The only reason I took her out is that she was going to kindergarten. They are a little more expensive, but, I can tell you that she was definately ready for kindergarten! In fact, I'm waiting until my 2nd daughter turns 2 this summer to put her into class there.

Another option to try is Grand Avenue school in Western Springs. Same type of concept.I really can't tell you much about them other than a girlfriend has her 1st grader there for after school care.

Good luck!

Little Peoples is AWESOME. All the teachers are college educated. They are happy and freindly. It is very clean. They do great stuff like have Jim Gill perform and a Halloween feast. It is great. I heard someone mention Kensington in Western Springs, my son was going to go their but I refused. No one knows whats going on, all the teachers are stressed out and very under staffed, it's dirty and nasty. I got all my money back. I love Littles People, you won't be sorry.

My niece has been at Little People's since she was an infant. My sister is happy with the programs, teachers, etc... The only downfall is since it is a larger facility, my niece seems to get sick more often than my daughter who goes to an inhome daycare. I was going to place my daughter in Little People's, but they would not take part-time infants. By the time my daughter was old enough to go into the toddler room with my niece, we were extremely happy with her inhome daycare provider and didn't place her there. I looked at Kensington in Western Springs, and was not impressed.

I LOVE LITTLE PEOPLE's!! My daughter is now almost 7 yrs old but I started her at Little People's when she was 18 mo's old. Cindy (the owner) and all of the teachers were great! My daughter is looking forward to going back for Spring Break this month and still misses her teachers. They did such great things such as science projects (caterpillar to moth, lady bugs, etc.), art projects gallore, sensory tables, and so on. They opened the Little People's Academy across the street on Catherine when my daughter was starting Kindergarten & I decided to keep her there rather than going to my town's public program cuz I thought it was so much better. A great art program (Ms. Xelina is wonderfuld - she's now one of the Directors). In fact the teachers & Directors still maintain contact w/ me to see how my daughter is doing. It's a "family" atmosphere and I always felt my daughter was in good hands.

I've heard mixed reviews on Kensington (nothing horrible about them) but I'm sorry, I cannot offer a personal "review" as Little People's has been my only experience. Best of luck to you in your search!
