this is normal and they usually straighten out on their own in a little bit. Almost all the kids I see at the daycare seem to have crooked first teeth but in no time at all they have a full mouth of perfectly aligned ones.
Hello Mom's,
I needed some advice. My daughter's bottom front tooth has come out a little crooked. Is this something that I should worry about? Should I take her to a pediatric dentist for it? I figured it may be nothing but I don't want it to affect her adult tooth when it comes out or affect the growth of her other teeth.

One of my daughter's baby teeth came in at a very slight angle rather than straight. The other teeth were straight so it made it seem more crooked than it was. When the adult tooth came in, they all came in fine. She will need braces for a slight overbite but otherwise, her teeth should be okay and plenty of room to correct.
Hi L.,
I am a dental assistant and I also have an 11 yr. old child. Crooked baby teeth have no effect on permanant teeth. Does your child suck her thumb? Did she get hit in the mouth or fall? You can just monitor her teeth. Brush all her teeth daily. Parents dont realize babies can get cavities! My own child got baby bottle decay and had to get fillings on all her front teeth. You can also see a pediatric dentist in your area to calm your fears. Good luck!
I wouldn't worry about it now. My 4 year old has a gap in her front teeth and almost a 100% overbite that I was concerned about. I asked her dentist and he said not to worry about it now- there's nothing corrective that can be done (ie braces)- if needed- until about age 8. When you take her for a dental appointment (which she should start getting once she has teeth) maybe you could just mention it to them.
Good luck!
No need to worry, my daughter actually has one extra tooth on top (it's coming in crooked due to spacing). I never heard of that before, but the dentist assured me that all will be fine and just because she has an extra tooth now, doesn't mean she'll have one when her second teeth come in or that one of her teeth will come in crooked because of it. Just let it be, it's not like they can put braces on her now. :)

Like Amanda and you, I worried about my son's crooked teeth and took him to see his dentist. I got the same response like Amanda's. There is nothing the dentist can do now. It all depends on how the adult teeth grow. My son is 8 now and he is slow in changing teeth. Again, I wonder if we should take some baby teeth out so they don't interfere with the adult teeth. But the dentist told me not to do that. Just wait and see whether my son needs a brace in the future. Hope this helps!

My (now) 21 month old had crooked bottom teeth when they first came in. They straightened out as the others came in around them. I wouldn't worry about it.
I wouldn't worry about it just yet. Your Daughter's tongue and lips will have a lot of influence on her teeth as they continue to erupt. It might straighten out on its own. Plus her jaw still has a lot of growing to do before it is locked into any position.
Your 2 1/2 year old is at just the right age to start seeing a dentist, pediatric or otherwise. When you bring him to the office you could also have the hygienist or dentist take a look at your daughter's teeth and give you their opinion.
I am a dental hygienist, and I would say that the primary things you should be worried about (affecting adult teethe)are thumb sucking (past a certain age) and cavities.
