Please help - our entire load is full of ink stains. Is there a way to get pen out of washed clothes that now have blotches of ink all over them??

What can I do next?

I use hairspray on ink stains, but depending on how large and deep these are you may need to wash the items numerous times. Just spray directly onto the fabric just prior to washing and put through the regular cycles.

RIT makes a "dye remover" product, but it WILL remove color from your clothes, too (I hope you had inky whites). You can find it in the laundry/dye section of the store (it's powder in a box). I believe I found it at Target or Joanne Fabrics. Good luck!!!

There is a spray called "Pen Ink and (something else)". It worked on my sofa. The ink disappeared. I'd search the stores.

Good luck.

I had this happen once and although it didn't get the worst stuff 100% clean, it worked enough to salvage most items. You need a couple gallons of milk and you soak the stained clothes in them. I don't remember how long for, but I'd do it for 24 hours or more probably.

When I would get ball point pen ink on my uniforms, Hair spray would get the ink out easily. I don't know about a full load...I just spot treated the ink with hairspray, then hot water...it was usually just around the pockets. I think Tide or Wisk would have a web site about this....maybe Procter and Gamble?

There is a product called Amodex that you can get at Office Max. I got ours in Oswego by the Target store. It is located just inside the door where by the registers where they sell all the small items and candy. My son drew with a Sharpie on our couch and it was a lot of ink on it. I looked online and the Sharpie company recommended it. It got it out. It took a couple of times working on it, but it worked very well. It also gets out pen stains. The little boy I watch got ink all over his parents' bedspread and I told them about it and they used it to get it all out, too.

Ughhhhhhhhhh, I hate when that happens!!! Of course I always caught all my stains before washing so not sure if this will work or not.... but hairspray on the stains and blot it out! If you have not dried them yet- DO NOT!!! Also when you are done with the hair spray use one of the Oxy washes in your load. I cant think of the name of the one I use but it is the cheapest one Walmart makes and it works great!!!!!

Good luck with this and many blessings to you!

Hair Spray usually gets out ink. Another thing to try is either googone which works well on sharpie markers . Another option is if you get those door to door sales people that sell cleaner. They typically wipe your door or something so just hand them your inked up shirt and see if it gets it out I did this once and on a stain that was on a shirt I had. I bought the multi-purpose cleaner it was a huge gallon and I just ran out but we had it for about 2 years. I bought Xtreme, they say you can use it as laundry detergent (I never did) but that might work i fyou use it concentrated?

Good Luck - F.
