We will be moving from Houston to Boston mid June because of my husband's job. We sold our house already and everything is in a storage. First, we tried a full service movers and it was very expensive. Then we thought about Penske but it would be better if we didn't have to drive 30 hours to Boston. Especially, with me been 34 weeks pregnant. Then, I thought about Broadway Express (you pack, we drive type of concept)but my husband wasn't to convinced. Any suggestion???? The worst part, packing, is DONE! HeLp!!!

What can I do next?

http://www.navarre-cajunmovers.com/ In 2005 I used them to bring antique furniture from Louisiana to Houston after my Mother died; they then took some of the rest of the furniture to my niece in Dallas. They arrived in Houston earlier than they thought and I was still teaching school, but rather than call me at school and insist that I leave and come home (it would have been very inconvenient to say the least!), they just waited the hour or two that it took until school was out and I came home. My sister-in-law has used them and so has her sister, but both locally. Feel free to use my name. C. Shipp

Hi J.:

I can't tell you the name of a company to use. But I can tell you the name of a company NOT to use. They're a local company that advertises long distance moves. The name is Half Price Movers. They're two guys with a truck. No business address .. just a cell phone. That number is ###-###-####. Stay away. I had a terrible experience with them. They're horrible! Good luck and investigate the company you choose.

You can use Broadway Express and hire laborors to load the truck if you like. 3 men movers has worked really well for me in the past. They hire out labor only or handle full service (in Texas only). So it shouldn't be a conflict of interest fpr them to load a truck moving out of state....Good luck.
