Sounds like he is hungry, learning a new skill, teething, maybe coming down with something....any of those things can mess with sleep patterns. PS my girls didn't sleep through the night till about 2 yrs old. For real.
My 8-month-old's sleeping patterns have changed. I was so happy when he was 2 months old because he slept the whole night. Lately he wakes up like a newborn. I just started working again and this is making it so hard on me. What can I do to help him sleep through the night again?

He could be going through a growth spurt and needs to eat more often.
It's called the 8 month sleep regression. It's a living hell! My baby that slept 11 hours from 10 weeks on is waking 3-4 times a night!
There isn't much you can do. It will change again around 9-10 months :-)
I'm losing it, and being mean to my other kids. I'm hoping tonight is the night she doesn't wake up at midnight and and cry, and cry... But until she is waking and crawling like a real champ, it's doubtful that she won't wake....
It's separation anxiety at 8 months, that then leads into crawling/walking.
All we can do is hang tight and wait it out.
You were pretty lucky to have those nights of sleep. I honestly don't know but one baby who slept all night before they were 13-15 months old.
I don't know what to tell you because I honestly don't think they do that. I know there are people who say theirs do but I think they say that but their kiddo probably sleeps for a few hours in a row and it feels like all night...lol.
Check out the Ferber method. It worked for both of my boys.
I don't know. It was always every 2 hours up until well over a year for me.
Their sleep patterns change as they grow.
They will go through diff stages.
Do your best to roll WITH the changes & not fight them. It will be so much easier.
He's most likely waking up because he's hungry.
The best thing to do is pick him up quietly, change his diaper w/dim lights on in the room & feed him.
Also, make he could be teething. Try rubbing infant orajel on his gums
or even better give him infant Tylenol. Just be sure to follow the dosage
on the bottle.
Also be sure he's burped so he's not gassy.

I don't have any suggestions as my 19 month old just started going a full night without needing me to nurse him 9 nights ago. He still wakes once or twice and whines for a few seconds but finally doesn't need me to come to him. I just wanted to commiserate with you. I know how hard it is to function without much sleep. It will get better!
I just looked back at a very similar question I had asked last year. My son was almost 7 months old when he began waking every hour and a half all night. He had previous to that been a decent sleeper. It is probably a developmental thing.
My kids didn't sleep through the night until over a year old. Until then, they both woke up 2-3 a night to be fed. I know that's not super helpful, but it's pretty normal for kiddos to not sleep through the night until after their first birthday. Good luck - it's hard sometimes!!!
This happened with my older one - slept well early on, then stopped around 8 or 9 months. It was a growth spurt. Is he on any solids yet? I found that a bowl of oatmeal cereal before bed helped.
Ugh...been there. Not fun is it? Both of my kids went through this. Both times it seems all they wanted were snuggles and a kiss then I put them both back to bed and they seemed content.
Is he waking up screaming his head off or just kinda whining? A mom I know is dealing with a baby around that age who is having night terrors
