THANKS

What can I do next?

ok I do not know if you went cold turkey or not.

This is how I did it.
I had to pump all the time my daughter was a bad nurser so I pumped and bottle fed. I pumped every 3 hrs for 20 min for 12 months . when it was time to wean I shortened my pump time from 20 min to 15 and went to every 4 hrs to ever 5 hrs to ever 6 hrs to ever 7 hrs ext, ext and so on. eventually I was at 1 x per day then everyother day to every 3rd day until it was never again. It took some time but I was never uncomforatable spo If you need to pump for 5 min 1 time a week then next time 1 1/2 weeks try to make it a little longer each time. and you will not suffer.

Eventually your breasts will stop making milk if you don't pump. It's all about demand. The more milk that's demanded the more they produce. You can pump a little to relieve the pressure and leaking - but just a little - and less and less often. But they will stop eventually. Good luck!

Your going to leak just because your done pumping and their going to keep producing. I would just ride it out, that's what I did. I was painful for about a week or so and changed a lot of pads. Eventually they will slow down and it will be done.

Change pads - get yourself some sage tea to dry it up. Pumping only stimulates more milk. Cabbage leaves can also help.

Are you going cold turkey? If so, and the pain is bad, you may want to relieve some pressure. If you can deal with the leaking, and aren't in pain, it will probably be fastest if you don't pump. You also may try a tighter bra to put more pressure on the nipple - that can help with the leakage.

When I weaned (I nursed and pumped), I was good for a week, and THEN got engorged. I'm not sure why the delay, but after about a week of dealing with that, I went down again. Probably not what you want to hear, but that is my experience.

pump just a little to relieve the pressure and leakage, but not enough to completely empty. do this when it leaks or when they feel extra full and hurt. it will gradually stop.

Cabbage leaf does sound odd, but it's all I did. Apart from the lovely smell, it works.
