Try "goo gone" found at Ace Hardware on the clothes. It might work on the dryer too I don't know. I use it on lots of stuff!

Help! My bad mistake for not checking pockets, a half pack of gum went through the wash (both cycles...)and now I have gum inside my dryer, worse yet it's gotten on the clothes. It's sugar free, but none the less, it's little gummy residue is speckled on the clothes, of course it was the colored wash, so the white is noticeable. Is there anyone who can help me get this off the clothes, and off the inside of my dryer? My husband gets back from a business trip today and I leave tomorrow for a weekend trip... need some ideas fast!
Okay, so I must say a big THANK YOU for all your advice. My husband is on a Goo-Gone mission so he'll take the dryer. I'm on clothes patrol and will try the pre-wash treatment when I get back from this trip and if that doesn't work, I'm going for freezing and then picking off the little specks. I will now check ALL pockets. It had to happen to me at some point. Thanks for your support!

Believe it or not Shout (or the like) on the dryer drum for a few minutes will take it right off. I had this hapen to me. A whole pack of gum. Squitred some Shout on it, let it sit for a few minutes and viola!! Rubbed right off and safe for clothes too..
If you're in a time crunch, you should try ice to harden the gum so you can pull it off. I like to use GOO GONE instead. You can use it on all kinds of sticky messes to include sticker residue. Hope this helps!

What brand gum was it? If you know, go to their website and see what advice they have. I think this has happened to a lot of people so I'm sure they'd have some advice. I've never had a half a pack of gum though - only Legos, crayons, lipstick, chapstick, etc. you might be able to scrape the gum off the interior of your appliances with a hard plastic scraper like a Pampered Chef stone scraper. Good luck!
The only thing I can think of is lighter fluid. My mom used lighter fluid to get gum out of our hair when we were little. I even used it once to get some gum off of my daughter's pants before, but I had not WASHED or DRYED them yet. I would give that a try. Good luck!!!
Use peanut butter on anything you have gum on.Clothes put peanut butter on and rub it, it will dissolve the gum.
But some peanut butter on a rag and rub it on the spots in your dryer thenafter the gum is gone you can use 409 or windex to get the grease from the peanut butter off.
Good luck and god bless
The old standby is to take peanut butter and work it into the gum that is on the outfit and it will usually come off. Then launder the outfit in the wash.
There is a product that will dissolve gum that is safe for fabrics. I am sorry that I can't remember the name of that one but... a product called Oops that will take the gum off of your dryer. I do not know if it is fabric safe. You can find it in the paint section of most any store.
Try a bit of vegetable oil or a small amount of peanut butter.
Use a cloth to apply and work into the areas.
This can also help with the clothes, depending on the blend of the material.

Get 'Goop Off' from Walmart for the inside of the dryer. You will probably have to scrub and pick most of it off with your fingers. But it works. You may can use that on cloths too... read the label.
Good luck.
The person that mentioned the Goo Gone was right on target. I have been in your shoes. It only took a few minutes. Put it on the gum and let it sit for just a few minutes then go back with a papertowel and you'll be amazed.
I've heard that ice can help get it off clothes & maybe try that Goo Be Gone product for the dryer. Good luck!!
I have never had to take gum out of anything, but an old remedies book I have from my grandparents church says to use ice or peanut butter. I would say the ice first. You harden the gum and then it should just come off. I won't guarantee that it will work, but I hope it does.
Anything oily (goo gone, peanut butter, veggie oil, etc.) will break down the sticky gum and help it come off, but you want to be careful on fabrics so that you don't end up with a grease stain. I have taken it off the inside of my dryer with spray & wash or any de-greasing household cleaner. My girls do this all the time. Most of the time, gum on the clothes will wash out in hot water, but not always.
Try Goo Be Gone for the inside of the dryer. Here You can get it at the Dollar Store.

WD40 will get the gum out of the dryer. Just apply liberally, then wipe off.
Goo Gone. One of the best products in the world!!!
Hello,
I have had this problem and what I did is took a piece of ice and rubbed the gum, it got hard so I could chip it off, it was time consuming but worked.
For the inside of the dryer try to use something oily on a paper towel and then clean well with all purpose cleaner.
I wish you luck! Also pray!
try goo gone...it's made with orange oil and i'm pretty sure it's safe for clothing. they have it at walmart and lowes.
get "GOO GONE" you can get it at the Dollar Tree.
Hey there.
Had the same thing. Had to get my head in the dryer and scrape every little piece off w/ my fingernail or try on old dryer sheet over something plastic with a bit of an edge. With the clothes, pull the spot where the gum is very tight, and then using a paring knife carefully, or butter knife, scrape it off. Then rewash them(to unpucker the clothing) and don't dry them until you recheck the clothing for gum.
hope that helps and amen to the stuff about boundaries with kids.
A bit about me: Christian wife and mom of a 41 yr-old and a 10-year old. part-time sub and part-time work @ home mom.
Try a little Avon Skin-so-soft bath oil.. it;s good for removing just about everything...even chewing gum...have taken it out of hair before.. you'd be surprised.
Good luck, R.
Try Goo gone, the stuff works wonders on a ton of things. I use it mostly to take off those sticky lables. You will probably want to wipe the surface off with soap and water after using the goo gone. Hope this helps.

Hey, try putting ice on it. It should pop off of the dyer but the clothes might be lost :) I've also heard that peanut butter gets gum off...maybe it's just getting it out of your hair that peanut butter is used for :)
Good luck!
Goo Gone! It is worth its weight in gold!! I have used it on clothes with no residue left or spotting on the clothes.
For the clothes, spray them with hairspray (clothes must be dry) then used your fingernails to pick off the hardened gum. Not sure if the hairspray for the dryer is a wise choice, since it gets hot in there. You do not want to start a fire when the hairspray gets hot. You coud spray in there, get the gum off and them wipe the machine down with soap and water to get the residual hairspray off???

Peanut butter worked for me to get it out of the clothes......weird, but worked.
Goo Gone will get it off! you can get it at Walmart or any home improvement type store
To get gum out of hair and off of things I use peanut butter. The oil in it removes the gum. You could also put ice on it, until it get very cold a chip it off.
