Help!! I Am Looking for Names...

Very cute name's! I have three boys and it started getting hard to find the right one. My husband is very irish and the last name was hard to work with since very irish last name. I never liked the idea of not having a name before making it to the hospital. In my family both side's there mostly all C or K names and irish. There is: (girls) Kayla, McKensie (Kensi-shortened), Kendra. Boys: Connor, Cole. My boys: Colin, Kiernan (keer-nan), and Cavan (kav-in)

If we would have had a girl, these were choises: Carianna (car-ee-hanna), anna, kylee, MacKenna

Rebecca is a good name(which is mine), and my brothers wife spells her's Rebekha.

My Grandmother and Mother have unusual names (for the US - we are Hungarian) that we have used variations of throughout my siblings. Rosalia and Katalin. If I ever have a girl, she will be Magdalen Rose (my middle name and my Grandma's name)...if I have another girl, she will be Elizabeth Kate (my MIL's middle name and my Mom's name). My sister is Katherina and my niece is Katie.

There's so many ways to sort names! You can search by sex, beginning/ending letters, country/nationality of origin, name meaning, even by number of letters in the name. They have both traditional and unique names. Our problem soon became narrowing down the choices. :)

And just because you're not due till May doens't mean you can't choose your names now. :) We chose Baby's names (both boy and girl, since we're not sure what we're having) before we conceived. We chose multiple names for each though, since sometimes when you finally get to meet your baby, you decide your first choice just doesn't seem to fit.

Congratulations on your pregnancy!!! Picking names is one of the hardest parts!! We always went in with a list, so we could see what the baby looked like first, to make sure that the name fit! I hope you are able to have luck with picking out a name!!!

I personally like looking at the social security website. They have a list of all the names and how popular they were. I didn't want my kids to have a really popular name so I really liked the website. I don't know the exact web address but I am sure if you googled it or went to www.ssa.gov you could find it! Congratulations! We have two boys (Matthew, 3 & Nathan, 1).
Had we had a girl, her name would have been Cora Renee (My great grandmothers name and my & my mother's middle name).

i love the name kami or cami or camie for a girl. so even camie rae sounds pretty good togheter!!

My daughter's name is Raelen (pronounced Ray Len)
A little different but we love it.
She also has to correct people on her name and the right way to say it. But it's unique in a way.
I don't have any boy's names, although my husband's name is Clayton. People call him Clay, or CJ. (because he is a Jr)

My mother named me after a name on a wedding invitation... C.. Growing up I only knew boys named Kortney so I really thought she wanted a boy, but it has become very popular now for girls. A friend of mine has a daughter named Jenna Rae. I would avoid using Rachel with Rae because although it is a very nice name, she would always be compared to "the" Rachel Ray. My sons were all given somewhat unique first names... Cassidy, Sebastian and Kelan. To be sure that they wouldn't hate me for giving them unusual names I gave them all "normal" middle names that they could go by if they wanted to when they get older... Charles, Michael, and Christopher. I see that there are a number of websites listed above and here is another one that I like:

everyone has seemed to make fun of me for my choice in my childrens names because they all have the same initials christopher matthew, cody micheal, and chloee michelle so i think the same initials are cute but as far as the r names Rebecka rae or ryanne (ri-ann) is a different girls name

Baby names are sometimes hard decide not only because you cant find a name that you like, but because you and your husband have to agree on it. I can understand that being school teachers when you hear a certain name it may remind you about a particular student and it is important to have your baby's name a unique one. I have three sisters, two older, one younger. My two older sisters and I all share the same middle name, but my youngest sister got one all her own simply because the first name my mother decided on didnt really "ring" with the middle name the rest of us shared. I personally never cared for the fact that our middle names were all the same. I always thought it important when naming a child that the name make the child feel unique within the family. Honestly, I think that when you named your first child and chose her initials to match the fathers that was thoughtful and cute, for the second child i find that to be too much of a coincidence that it was by accident that his initials also matched. I am only noting that because I read an article once about parents who name all of their kids with the same first initial, the author of the article believed that parents who participate in nameing their kids with the same first initial are "perfectionists" and the parents are unconsciencly trying to "perfectionate" the family with matching initials as they would by co-ordinating a color scheme or theme of a particular room of their home where everything matches. My kids have the same first initial and although I would say that I pay close attention to detail, I dont think of myself as a perfectionist but the article stayed with me ever since and I vowed that if I had more kids, the name wouldnt begin with the letter T. In any case, my suggestion is to choose a name that is a little out of fashion. I dont mean a name like Mary or Michael which were popular way back when, but possibly somthing that isnt regularly associated in a baby name book. For example, my last pregnacy I was stumped for names for both girls and boys and I didnt want a fashinable name like MacKenzie or Conner but I did want it to be *different* and I began thinking about alternative names. Nova Lee was the name I chose. Yes, Nova, like the Chevy Nova, the first car I ever owned.

The word Nova however, means; "The brightest star ever shining." My daughter was born premature and under developed and did not survive the delivery. At the memorial service that her father and I held to help our greif, my sister took me aside for a second to tell me that she looked up the word Nova before arriving and told me the meaning of the definition. It was very comforting. Until then I thought it was just a cool car I had once owned. So, be open. Sometimes you find a name that appeals to you very much that you hadnt even considered could be a name. Good Luck!

I noticed that you use to be a school counselor and miss interaction,I have found a great balance between work and kids. I use to be a wedding planner but it was to demanding for a mother of three and a husband that runs a grocery store. I started selling Lia sophia jewlery I only do a show a week and on average make 150-200 a show! My daughter's name is Charlotte - it's a soft C -unlike your other children, but I'm a fan (obviously). We call her Charlie or Sharlie. I think it's classic and works well for a baby and an adult, but not too overused.

If my youngest had been a girl her name would have been Claire Rowan.
Just don't let your husband do anything like my husband tried. He thought that we should name our son Merlin. And he was serious.
Thank God I didn't let that happen, I like Connor much better.

Congratulations! I started to plan names the second I found out I was pregnant so I don't think there's ever enough time to fully decide. I picked two names each as I wanted to make sure when I saw my baby that they would look like their name.

Two girls names I considered when I was pregnant were, Ciaran (pronounced KEER-an) is a feminine twist to the Gaelic Kieran and then Raeanne. Try looking on the internet for names of your nationality. There are lots of websites dedicated to specific ethnic baby names. This may spark some thought for you.

I ended up going with a big family name that was VERY ethnic and altho on occasion it is remarked upon by my son's classmates, he and they think it's cool because no one round here has anything like it. We're Italian/Irish so we had many choices available.

Have you checked both of your family trees? Sometimes you can find a perfect name that hasn't been used in a couple of generations. Those "old fashioned" names seem to be making a great comeback. I think it's great because there are so many beautiful names that my generation did not receive or use for their own children. Joslyn is one I heard of recently that I absolutely love!

Don't worry too much on not going with your husbands initials if you choose to go with your initials. This child will think they are special for being like Mom. As long as you stress to all your children that their names were chosen for them alone and had they not looked like a Carah or a Carson or a ???, they would have received a more special name that was picked for them and not anyone else on this earth!

I agree that if you've started the CA pattern, better keep it going. Coincidentally, my son's name is a CA - Collin Andrew. (Our last name is an R, so he's got fun initials - CAR!)

We have a lot of C boy names at daycare, too. Cayd and Christian are some of my son's friends. My brother's name is Christopher, which is a nice basic name.

You can always name a girl Christine and call her Chris, too. Or I also like Cassidy (already mentioned by someone else). I like Claire, too. It's cute for a little girl, but will also sound nice for a grown woman.

Coming from a family with all J names, I would suggest naming this next child a name with a C as well. The third child may feel left out or jealous because his/her siblings all have the same initials and their name starts with a different letter. Of course this is just my opinion.
