Try doing something that may slightly startle him when he does it, ie: making a loud noise in lieu of saying no-no or something along those lines - WHATEVER YOU DO - Do not bite back! That is the worst advice, but for some reason there are some people who will prob offer it. That just reinforces the behavior. Good luck- And though it may sound trite, it really probably is just a phase, just be consistent above all else!!!!

this may seem harsh but I had a friend that carried little bottles of vinegar and when her boy started biting she'd put some on her finger... and then touch his tongue... grossed him out... but it only took a couple of times until he realized the connection -- bite...bad taste..

My son started doing that at age 3, and I tried everything to get him to stop. I would get so frustrated, and the Day Care told me if he didn't stop, I would have to remove him from their facility. Finally, one night I was giving him a bath and he tried to bite me, and I stuck the bar of soap into his mouth. He bit off a chunk, and cried a little, but he never bit anyone again. If he even acted like he was trying to bite someone, I would tell him I was going to get the soap, and he would straighten up right away.
