My son left a crayon in the pocket of his brand new shorts, and somehow I missed it when I was sorting laundry. Needless to say, now I have crayon all over a load of whites! And the worst part is it went thru the dryer as well before I caught it!!! Please tell me there is hope for my clothes! I don't want to have to discard everything! (nor can I afford to!!!)

Try Shout-Advanced Gel Formula (it's in a fairly small blue spray bottle)...I got some mahogany wood stain on a pair of khaki pants and after two treatments you can't see it at all!!! This stuff is truly amazing.

My husband found some stuff called Krud Kutter. It takes everything out! You can find it at wal-mart in the hardware department by the paints. It has taken grease, crayon, & other things out of our clothes that my daughters have left in thier pockets. The only thing I haven't been sucessful with has been gum.

We have used a product called OOPS! when I have had lip balm go thru the dryer. I am assuming the crayon was not the washable kind? Since they are whites you may just try bleach to get the color out. There have been several good suggestions for the wax. Good Luck-I haven't had this happen..yet-just my 21 month old opening a bottle of fingernail polish-red, and spilling on the carpet-fun!!

I have come across two great products for this. They are Goof-Off and Goo-Gone. I prefer the former to the latter myself. It says on the bottle or can what all it takes out, and I've "tested" it on a dryer full of my husband's uniforms that had gum all over them (yup, left it in MY pocket)! I took the Goof-Off and put it on a cotton ball and just dabbed and rubbed and it all came off. I even used it to get the gum out of the dryer. Then I rewashed everything and they were fine. Goof-Off takes out crayon, wax, oil, grease, paint, marker (used it on some of my daughters clothes), gum, and countless other things, too. Hope this helps!

Hot water to melt the wax ... I have boil water in tea pot and poured over some clothes that had candle wax on them it might work for crayon then wash with bleach if they are all white clothes to get the color out.
Can't wait to hear what works.

Good luck!

You might think this crazy but have you try'ed tooth paste that can get things out, first wet the cloth or take a cloth and wet it real good take over what ever has the crayon on and take the tooth paste get and old tooth brush or something eles that you can use and scrub real hard and you will see it coming up you might have to do it a couple of times.it works

hi E., unfortunately i'm not sure you will be able to save your clothes.. i have washed crayons before its no fun there is a solution at walmart in a little tin can(smaller than a can of veggies) the name escapes me..if i remember i will send you a message of the name.. it is in the paint section i believe it is awesome stuff! the can looks like its for kids ( the wording on it),it might take care of some of the clothes but probably not the big stuff.. also you can try using ice like if you got gum stuck it freezes it and you can peel it off.. sorry that it happened! hope you can save your clothes ... K. c!

I saw a show a long time ago that told how to get candle wax out of a tablecloth to put newspaper on the board then iron the back of the stain on top of the paper until the paper soaked up the wax, you can try it but it never worked for me. So I may not be able to help you with the clothes but if you have crayon in your dryer drum I know how to fix that, first set up a fan to suck the fumes away from you and then use a soap scum remover (even from the dollar store will work) spray it on and scrub it off. You need to take frequent breaks to get out of the fumes. My dryer was completely coated with BLACK crayon. I used a whole bottle and an entire afternoon but it saved me from buying a new dryer.

I used to teach art. Amonia will melt the wax and erase crayon from surfaces like walls and tables.
