I would go back to the salon and make them fix it... If they cannot I woudl find another salon. I do not know where you are but there is a lady in Allen named Bille her number is ###-###-####. good luck!
Hi All,
About my recent hair-cut. I am new to this country and wanted a hair-cut.I had medium to long hair that are wavy and very frizzy and they were cut in two steps. So I searched for hair salons here and was recommended to one good salon by one of my friend. I got the appointment with the senior most hair stylist (paying up way too more for that approx $70) so that I can have a good hair-cut. When I met her I told her that I want a hair-cut that should be easy to manage just brush/comb(i.e. no blowdry and styling). I donot want to invest my time in blow-dry and styling as I am a mom to a very active 9 month old infant. That time she shampooed my hair and cut it and at the last before blowdry she applied some styling product (to straightened my hair) and blow dry it and gave me a good look with short hair. I was very happy with the look I got and so was my hubby. But for a very short time. After 2 days I took a head bath at home and as usual I donot blowdry my hair and I just apply hair serum to reduce the frizziness (the same serum that i used to apply before the hair-cut) But my hair have become way too frizzy with this cut and all the more wavy that it looks horrible.I am in a fix what to do. Please suggest me what to do. Should I call up salon again to talk to them. Has anybody unfortunately gone through it. what did u do. I dont know in this country if i can go back to her and ask for something else like a hair-cut or a hair straightening treatment kind of thing and should i pay again to rectify it. I am really worried as I have two functions to attend this weekend. Any suggestions are welcome.

You need to go back to the salon and say ''' I said very clearly that I needed a cut that would NOT require a lot of ''fusshing''-- I got exactly what I asked NOT to have- I need you to make this right. '''' They should provide you with product and counsel to make the cut work for you- and they should charge you VERY little money to make it right.
Good luck, S.-

Most stylist would want you to come back in the future for other hair cuts and want to make sure you are happy, so do go back and tell her what you need as soon as possible.
I would ask the stylist what product she used on your hair or what she/he recommends using to control the frizziness. I think it is okay to call or go back just to find that out. It doesn't sound like another hair cut would help you, just something to control the friz! S.
Having curly/wavy hair myself I can appreciate your frustration. When you cut curly hair it takes the weight off the strand and it will make it even curlier, so shorter doesn't take away the curl. Frizzy shouldn't have happened. You're already using an anti-frizz product, try a soothing or very conditioning shampoo and conditioner as well. I learned how to work with my curls and have wash and wear hair, so I let it dry naturally, no blow dryer. If I'm in a hurry and need a smoother look, I do have a blow dryer that is a hot air comb/brush that will dry and straighten at the same time.
I suggest calling the salon where you got the cut, let them know that your cut just isn't what you had hoped it would be when it came to maintenance. Ask if they can schedule you a styling appointment, so you can learn how to manage your curls and cut, what products they used and take your son with you so they can show you how to juggle the brush and your son. Maybe then, they'll appreciate your situation, it's not just the hair, but the heir. Best wishes!!
I agree that you need to let your stylist know right away that you are unhappy with your haircut. She will probably offer to fix the problem at no cost. I also have wavy hair that can be frizzy. I don't like to bother with a blow dryer or straightener. My stylist cuts my hair, puts in some product and scrunches it into shape while it's still wet. Then she has me sit under the big old-fashioned hood style hair dryer until my hair is dry. The hood hair dryer gives the same results as letting your hair air dry, except it's fast. Then, she makes small corrections to my cut so it looks good. It's frustrating to pay good money for a haircut that won't work for you. Give the stylist another chance to make it right.
This same thing happened to me last year. I chose to wait it out and let it grow, since it was too short. I did have to return because one side was shorter than the other, so really didn;t want more cut off. That return visit was free. I would call right away and let them know you are not happy. See what they are willing to do. If the stylist can show you how to style it without blowdrying, that may helpLike special products or washing it at night?). If you are willing to go shorter, you could ask for a re-cut. The blowdry also frizzes up my hair, so super conditioner is helpful. I also always use a conditioner in the shower, a leave-in conditioner (Nexus Humectrus) and a serum (Zero Frizz)after. I grew mine into long layers, which works for me. I never blowdry, either. I hope this helps! Good Luck!
Welcome to the US! I have experienced exactly what you have. I assumed when I moved here from another country, that hairstylists would have similar training and I have been repeatedly surprised that time and again it is very hard to find someone who understands our kind of hair. As a result, I look back on photos of my hair in other days and sigh. I just had mine cut again, with a new stylist, and explained I didn't want it thinned out with those horrible scissors as in my hair, it makes it frizzy and wiry. So I asked for a blunter layering and specifically requested not to look like a triangle.
I look like a triangle! My hair puffs out like a sea anemone!
The only solution for me right now is to go through the arduous process of straightening it in the morning. Get a flat iron for now until it grows a little. it won't take as long as you think, but yes, it is a pain and I feel for you. I wish I had hair that could dry naturally and look good!
In future, I am going to ask any stylist not to straighten my hair so that I - and they - can see what my hair texture looks like wiht the cut they have given me. Especially since I am never going to be proficient at blowdrying or straightening my hair as they do.
Even putting in a curl enhancement doesn't work for me - it makes my hair heavy and blah.
A week will make a difference in your hair. I have never gone back to complain - and that sounds like a good idea. The other ladies have made great points about that (so if someone wants to come with me and hold my hand when I have to do that I'd love it! lol). I just have never been sure what they can do about it from there.
My solution is always the ponytail with events coming up! Get a nice clip or flower to throw in on the side and you can look sophisticated! (At least that's what I tell myself)
Hope it grows out soon for you.
Cheers,
C.
Hi S.,
Definitely go back to the salon and speak with your stylist. She will want you to be happy and will work with you to correct the problem and also suggest which products to use on your hair to make it look the way you expected. Make sure you point out that you wanted a hair style that did not require a blow dry, and insist she show you how to do it the way you would each day and then you could use the blow dryer and curling iron for special occassions.
Most salons are happy to correct the problem at no charge! So make sure you go back right away and tell them it's not working!

Yes! You should go back to the salon and ask her to fix it. You paid good money for your haircut, and if you aren't satisfied, she should fix it. I would bet that the salon manager/owner will be happy to accomodate you! Just call and talk to the manager before you go in. They are trained professionals...they should be able to help you! Good luck!
You should either find some good wavy/curly hair products that will help, or invest in a decent flat iron or large barrel curling iron, so you can straighten until you master your curl again. Check out Naturallycurly.com for product suggestions and info. I would stay away from a chemical straightening treatment. It's not so great for your hair. You will look great if you work with your hair. :) Good luck and don't forget you are beautiful no matter what.
S., I think that if it looked great leaving the salon, it can look great again. I would call her/him and ask what products were used in your hair to get the look and try to do it at home. Also, since you mentioned that you are not from here, the humidity could be different here causing problems. I like Tresseme collection styling products, many are made for humidity! A.
Hi! I have gone through this so many times! The best thing to do is go back to the salon and ask your "stylist" what product they used and ask them for any tips on keeping the look up at home. I have short hair and I hate blow drying (I have 2 small children and work fulltime...I actually am sitting in my office with a wet head this morning!)....Anyway, as much as I hate to blow dry, with short hair it really only takes 5 mintues and it makes a HUGE difference.
Definitely go back to the stylist and ask her for advise!
you should call and get your hair fixed. They should not charge you for it either. If they do, just let them know that you will not be returning or recommending them to your friends. They do not like hearing that at all.
is your hair just frizzy or is it a little curly. If it curly try using products to maintain the curl and you can let your hair air dry. I like KMS products curling balm and spray get.
Go back to the salon a/s/a/p!! Most times they figure something out.
Good Luck,Jan
S.,
My hair is the same. I don't recommend getting it straightened. I had this done so I WOULDN'T have to do anything to it, and ended up having to flat iron it because the straightening left my hair looking horrible. It also smelled like the chemicals forever which gave me a headache.
What I do is wash my hair use a light conditioner, let it sit for 5 minutes, rinse in very cool water and let it dry naturally. I only use a large wide toothed comb on my hair. Other types of combs and brushes breaks off the hair causing worse frizzing. I NEVER put products in my hair because I don't like the look or smell. I don't comb my hair when dry except using my fingers. I can put it up in a alligator clip or ponytail or leave it down and it still looks good. I also keep my hair a little long. About shoulder length. When curly hair is dry, it shrinks a lot and if it's like my hair, it will look like a Christmas tree when dry. Keeping it a little long compensates for this.
I wish you a lot of luck.
Also, I wouldn't go back to have it re-cut. I feel that would be a terrible disaster and mistake. Let it grow a little more.
I'm in the same place you are, I just learned to live with curly hair.
i have had to go back to have a cut fixed and it was no charge. if they are reputable they should fix it. how about a straightener???
Well, it looks like everybody has been through that. I'm from Europe and I feel your pain. We go back there every summer and this is where I would have my hair cut. Once per year, that's right, but it will be the way I want it. The last time I had a hair cut here, I went back to the salone and "yes" she was very concern and her supervisor did try to make it better and still looked terrible. I had to have it on a ponny tail for 4 months. Since than I found a Russian guy close to where I live and I'm very happy with him. He takes time to talk about what exactly I want and than takes time to do it. Last time he even sad "no" to one of my requests because that would make my hair fussy and like a pyramid after the first wash at home. Plus is very afordable. This summer was the first time ever I went back home in style. Good luck with finding the perfect one for you!
call the salon and talk to the person who cut your hair. find out what she used on your hair and ask her for suggestions. any good hairstylist wants their customers happy so she should be willing to help you.
Definitely give a call to the stylist you used and explain your dilemma. I would bet she would style it for your functions this weekend and then correct the cut so its more manageable for you. I'm sorry!
