I agree Lone Star Pediatrics is the place to go - Dr. Thorstad and Dr. Dudley are GREAT! We love this practice, the staff is really, really nice! Plus, they have 2 locations - off the mopac and off 620.
I am in Liberty Hill, TX. I have been taking my almost 2yr daughter to a pediatrician in Georgetown. She was my pediatrician when I was a child. She is really wonderful, but her staff is awful. I feel like we get herded in and out like cattle. The girls at the front desk are always cold and rude. The nurses don't take the time to make her feel comfortable, so she screams through the whole experience. I am very calm in the doctor's office and always enjoyed seeing the doctor when I was little so I know it's not me rubbing off on her. Does anyone know a place where the people greet you with a smile, know you childs name, play little games with them to make them feel comfortable? I would prefer a female Dr. somewhere in Round Rock, Georgetown, Leander, Cedar Park, and even NW Austin. Help me find the right pediatrician.

I have to agree with Christi O. We go to Lonestar Pediatrics as well and will go nowhere else. Gwen, a nurse practitioner, is FABULOUS and the doctors are as well. They've recently added a new nurse practitioner, but I've not seen her yet. I had to take my oldest to a specialist and when he found out we see Dr. Thorstad, he said she is one of the 10 best pediatricians in Austin. I could go on and on. We had to go through some urinary issues with my oldest (which meant quite a few catheters) and she doesn't mind going to see Miss Gwen or Dr. Thorstad. What does that tell you? Hope this helps!
We have 7-1/2 month old twin boys and the doctors at Lone Star Pediatrics take care of them. They have an office on 620 and another one on Mopac, just south of Parmer. There are two female doctors in the practice and a FABULOUS nurse practitioner. We see Dr. Thorstad and Gwen (the nurse practictioner). They are both wonderful! My niece sees the other doc (Dr. Dudley) and they love her as well. I don't think you can go wrong with Lone Star Pediatrics. They have a meet and greet once a month (I think on Monday evenings) so you can meet them and decide if that is the right place for your children.
Best of luck!
We see Dr. Trevor Turner with Brushy Creek Family Physicians and I LOVE the office. AND Dr. Turner is Dr. Kelly Thorstad's husband so if you go with Lone Star Pediatrics, pick her!!! He didn't have privileges at NAMC so he sent his wife to the hospital to visit and examine my son after he was born. Dr. Turner's office is on Wyoming Springs Drive just off 620. There is no problem getting a same day appt. and usually there is not much of a wait either. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Hi K.,
I've been taking my 7.5 month old son to Northwest Pediatrics since he was 2 months old. I LOVE Dr. White. They are located in the same parking lot as Seton Northwest. I know it's a bit of a drive from Liberty Hill. We live in Leander. I don't mind the drive b/c I love Dr. White so much. She makes us feel comfortable and is always so sweet with my son.
For the first two months of my son's life we went to Dr. Joe at Cedar Park Pediatrics. I would NOT recommend him. It sounds a lot like the place you are taking your daughter to right now.
Dr. White is absolutely amazing, I can not say enough wonderful things about her. The website is www.northwestpediatrics.com
Hope that helps!
If your insurance takes ARC (Austin Regional Clinic) then you should try the gruop in Cedar Park. The doctor we saw was Dr. Christopher Specer. I know that you asked for a female but this guy is wonderful. I don't know the rest of the doctors in the group but I have never had any problems with any ARC doctors. It would be a place to look into. The only reason why we left is because out insurance doesn't cover them any more. But I would switch back in a heart beat.
Dr Daniel Voss in Georgetown is a Great doctor and he is a family doctor so the whole family can see him..he even delivers babies
We go to a dr in Georgetown as well, and I think you may be talking about the same office. The office personnel is far from exciting but I have had really good experiences with the nurses, and we love the dr. My middle child has special needs, and the dr has been on the phone with me numerous times walking me through things. I've had huge problems finding a pedi office that works for us. And while I think they should can the blah desk ladies, I also have experienced the opposite. We had a family practitioner in Leander we were seeing, and it was AWFUL. The nurse practitioner was amazing, but the dr was just terrible as was the office personnel. So, I've resolved for me personally, I'll ignore the cranky ladies. I really like Dr. H, she's been amazing to my family. But man I wish I could kick those girls in the bum. ;o)
