Put some bag balm on it and put a sockor something over her hand while she sleep and it will heel so fast you will think its magic. you can get it at any drug store
My daughter is a little thumb sucker, which never bothered me until recently we noticed that her thumb is starting to crack. Any suggestions on what we can do to help her poor little thumb? I don't want to put any lotions on it because she will injest them. She has had no interest in a pacifier since she was 6 months and there is no reasoning with a 18 month old. Any natural suggestions to get her to stop?
Thank you for all of the wonderful advice. I still have some Lanolin from nursing and it seems to be really helping. Thanks again.

Just find a mild lotion like baby aveeno and put a small amount on her hands and rub it in; this will help with the cracking; my daughter did the same thing and her dr wasn't concerned.
Try lanolin. You can get it in the breastfeeding support section of any drug store under the brand name Lansinoh. It's purified and used for breastfeeding moms to help soothe and heal cracked, sore nipples during the nursing years. It's 100% safe to ingest. Good luck!
How about olive oil? It will help the cracking and maybe it will help keep it out of her mouth (I hate the taste of raw olive oil).
After she goes to bed either for nap or at nighttime, put a clean sock over her hand of the thumb she is sucking. This was suggested to my parents when I was a child by the dentist as I started to get buck teeth.
You could try sprinkling pepper on her thumb as well. It's a little more harsh, but thought I would suggest it.
Good luck!
Go to the drug store and get some Thumz. That's what you should brush on her thumb., It tastes so nasty that kids will avoid putting their thumb in the mouth and thusly break the habit.
My son is almost two and still sucks his thumb. It gets cracked a lot... we use vitamin E on it (poke a pill open). They can injest that, it's natural.
you could maybe try peppermint oil. Its suppose to heal dry skin. plus it may help her with indigestion. (if she has any). Lavender oil works too but I don't think she would like to suck on that. pepermint taste better. Oh make sure its pure oil. If you go to youngliving.com there oils are pure.
Hi L., I seem to recall my mother-in-law told me that there was something you could get at the pharmacy that was bad tasting, (but not harmful to injest) that was used to discourage thumb sucking. I don't remember what the name
of it was. She told me about 34 years ago. The age of my son now. Yikes, where does the time fly? Anyway, the
Pharmacy may have a suggestion. God Bless. Hope this helps. P.S. I so appreciated my recent visit to a Physical
Theaphy Clinic. I enjoyed my PT Assistant so much.
I'm sure you are helping alot of people. K. H.
