My son is going to be turning 5 next month and I want to find an affordable place to hold his birthday party. Somewhere fun. We already did Chuck E Cheese last year and Pump It Up is too expensive. Anyone have any suggestions?? Thanks!

We've done the Family Fun Center for our 6yo's last 3 birthdays. Depending on how many kids and if you reserve tables, it's not so bad.

Have you considered having a party at home? We had 10 kiddos over for my daughter's 5th birthday and hired the Reptile Guy to come keep them all entertained. He brought all sorts of animals for the kids to look at, touch, etc. and they were spell bound for 45 minutes at least. Add a snake shaped cake and presto you've got a theme!

We looked into the city community centers (mountlake terrace pool/woodinville), moonpapertent.com, rainbow play systems. I think the museums (imagine, burke) have packages as does the aquarium and the zoo, dizzes tumble bus, little gym, seattle indoor gymastics, gymagine in mulkiteo, karate instructors, dig it fossils in evt mall, funtasia (edmonds), illusions (issaquah), traxx indoor racing (mulkteo) or champs carts (mill creek) . We finally ended up hiring a clown for my dau's 5 Parentmap.com and seattleschild.com usually have a list of things too for other ideas. Good luck.

I know when my girls were younger (now grown and out of the house)McDonalds and Burger King did parties. My youngest,15, has gone to parties at the Lk Stevens High School pool and a gymnastics club in Marysville (ideas for the older ones).Good luck!

Hi R..
Have you tried Redmond Arena Sports? They do most of the work for you and offer party room packages for toddlers to seniors. I believe you can customize the party to suit your budget and they have pizza for your party and coordinate a game of Soccer, T-ball or Kickball, and you can even incorporate their Fun Zone.

The kids always have such a great time and there really is very little work for you to do. Here is there website: arenasports.net

There should be a menu for you to select "Party at Arena" that will give you all the details.
Good Luck!
