I have had hypothyroidism for over a year and last year had my thyroid taken out due to suspected cancer. Didnt have it thank goodness. But now my hair is falling out and is so dry its crunchy. Didnt help wirh highlighting it to death before all this happened. I was wondering if any of you ladies knew of a good wig store around here. I cant walk around like this anymore, its just embarrassing!! Thanks in advance

What can I do next?

Ask a hair dresser that you trust. A wig may still need to be styled to look the way you want. Some hair dressers will specialize in wigs for cancer patients, it is not unusual, so perhaps search online for "cancer wig specialist, Parker, CO", etc. Real hair usually looks and feels better than synthetic hair, but synthetic hair is a lot cheaper. Call around to salons, or else ask at the local cancer center.

I have no idea which place is closest to you, but here are a few shops:

Also, maybe your Dr has a referral to a place? Some work closely with the medical community.

I'm not familiar with Colorodo, but I was in Virginia and we were browsing around and found the most awesome wig shop. They had every style and color you can imagine. We tried some on for fun. I can totally see why some women even without thinning hair enjoy wearing wigs sometimes.

If you don't have a wig shop or beauty supply store that can help you try on and order one, contact the Cancer society in your area. They know of the best resources for this.

I wish you the best!

If you get to the point that you know what you want from a wig enough to order one online yourself, I've had the best experiences with Wilshire Wigs. They have great prices, big selection, good service, and ship right to your home. My favorite wig line for quality of materials is Noriko. Good luck and God bless!

My mom's hair fell out from chemo last year and the hospital offered her a selection of wigs that were free.

Contact the American Cancer Society and they can direct you. Also, do you have a local Sally Beauty Supply? If so, ask the employees there for products to help your natural hair.
