I have 3 yr old twins, a boy and a girl. I want to dress them with the same theme for Halloween. I need ideas for costumes. I want them going as something unusual, not something that every other kid is going as. Last year they were Dorthy and the Scarecrow from The Wizard of Oz. Come on ladies, I need your help!!!

What can I do next?

How about Woody and Jessie from Toy Story (1,2,3)? That would be cute and pretty easy to put together.

Good luck!

My boy/girl are 2yrs apart, but they have been Woody & Jesse (cowboy/girl form original Toy Story) football player and cheerleader. Like someone else mentioned, you could do superman and wonderwoman, and I also thought of salt/pepper shakers. you could dress as another holiday for Halloween, like Santa Claus and Christmas tree or present.

Have you read The Cat In the Hat? How about "Thing 1" and "Thing 2" -- get them matching red shirts and matching pants--and you can probably cobble together the outfit from thrift store clothes. :)

If you need some visuals, go to images.google.com and search "thing 1 and thing 2" and you'll get tons of hits. :)

I did my little ones at Thing One and Thing Two from Dr. Seuss. I see a few people suggested this but I am telling you, I haven't seen anyone do them besides us. We just used red sweat suits and self stick felt for the labels on the shirt. For the hair I took stocking hats and used blue foam glued to it. It was the best and very warm for a cold time of year.

Good luck!

2 super heros? Last year my daughter was wonder woman and loved it! She by far had the most fun with this costume and got the best responses. You could go with a certain one that fit each of their personalites, or ones that come from the same story.

my husband and his bro do matching costumes every year. Last year they were Jamie and Adam from Mythbusters, the year before Mario and Luigi. Your twins might be cute as Mario or Luigi and the Princess, or the Princess and Yoshi or something.

My daughter is going to be Jessie from toy story so I'm trying to get her dad and uncle to be buzz and woody. We have a dachshund, so she'd be the perfect Slink!

I also think R2D2 and C-3PO would be adorable if your kids are into Star Wars.

Snow White and one of the seven dwarfs?
Nemo and Dory?
Timon and Pumba?

Wendy and Peter Pan, Woody and Jesse, Little Mermaid and Flounder, Jack and Jill, two peas in a pod, hershey kisses, cheerleader and a football player, peanut butter and jelly...
I hope you find something you love

What do they like? TV, movies, games, toys, storybook... thousands of options from Nemo & Dori, to a lion tamer and lion/ or other circusy things, to dinosaurs, to thomas the tank engine, zoe & elmo, angelina ballerina & fireman sam, Alice & _______ from wonderland, red riding hood and wolf, dragon and knight, king and queen, etc...

There's also retro or semi-adult stuff they would be clueless about, but probably dig; I dream of jeanie/ jeanie & major nelson = astronaught + geenie costume... ginger rogers and fred astair... james bond & money penny... indiana jones & marian... luke & leia from starwars (hey, they're even bro and sis)...

When my b/g twins were 3, we dressed them as a doctor and patient. They were homemade costumes and were very inexpensive. It was adorable. She was the doctor and he was dressed with bangages on his head, leg, and arm. He told everyone he was in an automobile accident....lol. I think they may be Luke & Leah from Star Wars this year, not sure. Hope you come up with something you like.

There's always the M&M costumes around. Do them in two different colors. With out twins, boy/girl too, we did ladybug and a bee one yr. Look for any of the disney characters and do two from the same story.

We have preschoolers come through our office trick or treating, and sometimes their parents join them. Last year, there was a little kid dressed as an egg, and the mom was bacon. SOOO cute! It was by far the most memorable of all the costumes, and could be really cute for your twins!

Last year my twins were Thing 1 and Thing 2. I bought red sweatpants and red turtlenecks, white fabric, and black puff paint. I am not a seamstress (doing good to sew a button on!) and I simply cut out a cirlce, loosely sewed it onto the front of the shirts and wrote on them with the puff paint. My girls would never keep a wig on so I sprayed their hair with blue hair dye. They looked great!
