Hi J..
There are several local charities that are usually able to assist in situations such as this. I would try Jewish Family Services and Catholic Charities. You do not have to be Jewish or Catholic to be a part of their services. Another great resource for community services is the local 211 service. Dial 211 from your phone and it will take you to the local United Way office who can search their database for resources you are looking for. I hope this helps and best of luck to you through this difficult time.

Yes J. please look into the resources that the other ladies have advised. These are usually temporary but hopefully last until your situation gets better. By all means do try and negotiate the rent with the landlord, people are very understanding in these hard times. And if he does evict you, try and find a cheaper place in a different school district and then consider a private school for your grandson. If you can find a 2 bedroom apt for like 600 a month somewhere you may be able to find him a private or religious school for about 250 a month tuition. Look for apts and homes for rent on craigslist ok. And good Luck and God Bless you and your family J..

Just wanted to advise you to talk to your landlord and tell them you situation. Times are very tough right now and it's hard to find renters, so you may be able to negotiate a lower rent if that means keeping you for your lease. I also read that people are calling other companies like cable, phone, etc and negotiating lower charges--along with getting longer grace periods on car payments, loans, and credit cards--so start calling any company you owe debt to and see what they can do to help....
Are you getting unemployment? If you got fired or laid off--you should be entitled to that. Finally go to http://www.myflorida.com/cf_web/ and look into the services there...good luck hon and don't give up!
