Pedipeds and Robeez are also good, although you don't want to wear the Robeez to walk outside if it's wet out. (They're ok if it's dry.)
My son is 9 months old and has been walking for a month. I can't find shoes that fit AND that are conducive to walking. Can anyone recommend a brand that's not too crazy expensive and that has sizes that would fit a 9 month old? Thanks!

My favorite are pediped's & stride right. They are $25 range, but well worth it.
we really liked pedipeds!
Stride Rite is awesome...they have an outlet in Kenosha for a cheaper option. My son just started walking and they support his feet well.
If your son is walking indoors, let him walk barefoot or with socks. That is supposed to be best anyway. For outdoors, try strideright. They are a little pricier but you can usually get good deals when they have sales. There is also an outlet store in Aurora. Anything with a more solid base should be fine.
Target has the generic version of the robeez. Want to make sure the foot has flexibility. He will be best off barefoot but if you need to protect the little toes-- keep to soft sole shoes
