I am needing some advice with my sons health. He is 3 years old, will be 4 in August. He has allergies to food, pets and outdoor irritants. He also has asthma. It seems like he is always sick. Either a virus, strep throat, ear infections pretty much the common things that children get - but it seems like he ALWAYS has something. Winter time is the worse. His asthma is under control with medication - we did have a rough winter though and he was on Prednisone 4 times from about Nov. - March. He sees an allergist and a dermatologist regularly, has had all his immunizations, and normally is a happy kid. I just dont understand why he gets sick 10X more than his sister. He had an awesome doc when he was younger, but due to certian circumstances I had to put them on state insurance and change doctors. I do not particularly care for his current doctor who seems to busy to spend any time with him. So I guess my question is - has anyone else been through this with their child? Will he eventually grow out of this? It is just so frustrating to see him not feeling well knowing that I can't do anything more to make him feel better. His sister who is 6 is hardly ever sick (maybe 2 times a year). Any advice or support would be helpful! Thanks
WOW! Thank you to all of you who have responded or who still are. I have gotten alot of good advice. Unfortunantly my baby is still not feeling well. I am going to try the Just Juice products and seriously look into trading out all of my cleaning products. I will keep looking for a new doctor - There are not too many here in KC that are accepting anything but new borns right now. Thank you again for all the awesome responses. Hopefully he will grow out of this by the time he goes to kindergarten. Does anyone know of a Childrens' Chiropractor that accepts Missouri Medicaid?

I went through the same thing with my children. My first child was never sick, but my second one had severe asthma and some allergies. Unfortunately, he was sick a lot. His asthma continued, but the other stuff lessened a lot as he got older. Since his immune system is compromised, we got really good at detecting infections, etc. and killing them. Sometimes if antibiotics worked, he would have to be on them for three weeks instead of ten days or they would come back. He is 29 now and still has asthma, still under control with meds, but any sinus infections can be a real mess!
kids with asthma just get sick more. eliminate all allergens...aquariums, cats, birds, cigarette smoke. if anyone smokes, smoke outside in a smoking jacket. get his ears checked...does he have tubes? frequent infections that would warrant them? does he have a controller AND a reliever, like qvar daily and xoponex when he's needing a boost? what about singulair? these meds are GREAT for asthma kids, help out without jacking up the heart rate or causing big drops in immunity. prednisone causes decreased immunity if on it often. switch doctors if you aren't happy.
Oh My! Yes I have been through this...I have 3 boyes 13, 11 and 9. All 3 of them were dianosed with Asthma by 2 years old. Tubes were put into ears in all 3. My 13 year old had is touncils taken out in 4th grade and we have been on steriods for ever! It seemed like we couldn't leave the house without the nebulizer. The flair-ups were also during those months. All three have been hospitalized at one point for asthma attachs. I am happy to tell you we have not had any severe problems in years. We did have some allergy problems last month but we have that undercontrol. I was also that way when I was younger, they never called it Asthma back then :-) I was alergic to everything and had to sleep in a made tent with a humidifier along with going to the ER constantly. I still get allergy shots but have out grown all other symptoms. My allergist told me that alot of times kids do out grown them. Keep the faith! I know it is hard and Asthma is scary but there is a good chance he will out grow it when Mommy isn't going to be around all the time to protect him from those attachs. Good luck and take care!
Have you talked to your doctor about getting his tonsils and adnoids out. I know that from experience. My son was 2 and had to have his out plus he had to have tubes in his ears. It made a remarkable difference. Since you are on assistance you really need to get it done while you have it. I had to do the same thing when he was that age. You need to tell the doctor that you want to see a specialist and have him refer your son. The specialist deals with this illness. My specialist told me that the reason he was sick with strep, etc. was because his tonsils were full of infection. Infection is always present in their tonsils and that make them sick more often. I am the mother of 3 boys, now 24,21, and 17. I have been married 26 years. Good luck to you.
My son has allergies and asthma caused by the allergies. If I keep him on his allergy medicine regularly, he doesn't need as much asthma medicine. He does really well with Zyrtec for allergies and Flovent for asthma. Have you tried that medicine? I also make sure he takes showers before bed if he has been outside a lot and exposed to allergens, plus wash his bed linens a lot or pillow case to keep the allergens down. This seems to help with his overall health. I hope this helps alittle. A.
Hi, E.. We have not seen as much of the illness in our family but have had our share in the past. My 9 year old daughter was diagnosed as having asthma four or five years ago and she would get much more sick than her brother and sister. She would also have terrible flare ups (especially when sleeping)where she could not breathe and we had to use the inhalers and the nebulizer. (sp?) She would get these terrible dog barking coughs that would last for days and keep her up nights and would then produce such mucus that she would start vomiting it up. My other children, on the other hand are never ill. In fact, my 12 year old daughter has not been to a doctor in 7 years. I was also having debilitating migraine headaches for years. Okay here is the "good news" part. Almost 3 years ago, I heard about a company that sold wellness products that didn't have the harsh chemicals and caustic toxins in them that the cleaning products in the traditional stores have. I converted my whole home. I got rid of the bleach and the laundry detergents, all of the cleaning products, haircare products, first aid products, aerosols, disinfectants, candles--everything that contained the poisonous chemicals (which honestly I didn't know were poison until I decided to take control of my daughter's health and do some major research). I replaced them with products that work better and give me peace of mind. Better than all that--my daughter has not had even 1 asthma flare up since. She never has to go to the doctor. In fact, recently I had to take her in because of a bump that had formed on her eyelid. The doctor "rebuked" me for not bringing my children to the doctor even for a wellness checkup. So, I promised to do at least that:) I love that fact that I have not had to give her the inhalers or the breathing treatments. It made me so sad to put things into her system that had so many known side effects and were not natural. E., many people don't realize the effects that chemicals have on people, especially people who already have allergies. Hope this helps. If I can be of further help, just contact me through my website.
Hi E.,
Poor little guy!! I would certainly suggest chiropractic care and nutritional/whole food supplementation help as well. I work for a chiro and I've seen amazing results with all kinds of ailments and lowered immune systems. The most amazing results I've ever seen are through a Dr. Dinkelmann in Wood River Illinois. He will do phone consults as well, so you wouldn't have to drive there and he treats children under 12 for free!!! That is how passionate he is. He will deal with the nutritional/whole food supplement part, also called your biochemistry. I see him myself along with my husband. My mom lives in Vermont and speaks with him via email and phone. If you are interested here is the number to his office: ###-###-####. He helps adults and children with many different problems ranging from autism, adhd, cancer, diabetes, allergies, asthma to just name a few! Good luck to you and your little one!
I would recommend making sure your son takes his multivitamins plus extra vitamin C. Also, put him on a probiotic. (acidophilis) If your son is as sick as you say, he probably is on antibiotics a lot which destroys all the good bacteria in the body. I just wanted to note that sometimes being fully vaccinated can lead a child into a world of sicknesses. Just from research I've done and many mom's, chiropractors and doctors I've talked to. Good luck with your little one.
I don't have much advice other than every child is different. I did want to pass along the name of a great ped if you can change doctors and are in this area - we are north of the river near Gladstone. She is Dr. Mirza and I absolutely love her! My oldest daughter is about to turn 17 and said she hates that she's only going to have 1 more year with her as her doctor and will have to change to an adult doctor - she's been her doctor her entire life. My youngest is about to turn 5 and loves her too. The best thing is I feel she is very pro-active and always has time for them and since she is private practice you don't get stuck with whoever is there - you always have her and she knows your children. Her number is ###-###-#### and I think she takes state insurance too.
I understand where you are coming from. My child has been very healthy, but I was the sick kid. I also have asthma. There was one year my allergies and asthma acted up so much I was in th ER no less than 20 times! The good news is that eventually his body will build up tolerances and antibodies. The last time I was really sick was about 3 years ago. All of the allergies that would set of reactions don't bother me at all now (I have 4 cats and they used to make me wheeze and my eyes swell shut). I can't tell you exactly when I started to get healthier, but it started with me getting less viruses, then my allergies got better and then my asthma. I do suggest that if you are unhappy with your son's dr that you express your concerns first, and if you are still not pleased with the results then change doctors! The right doctor can make all the difference. Good luck! Kepp your chin up, there is a light at the end of the tunnel!
I can't say that I've had experience with this, neither of my boys have allergies. However, I'd like to offer this bit of advice. Try seeking out a holistic practitioner...someone who will look at the nutritional and supplemental needs of your son. You'd be surprised how much a change in diet can improve one's health issues. Also, have you considered chiropractic care? I have heard wonderful things about seeing a chiropractor for alleries. This should all be done, of course, in conjunction with your regular doctor. And, by the way, if you don't like the doctor and you don't feel like you're getting quality care from him, find someone else. This is your child's health and you deserve to get the best care possible.
One other bit of advice I've heard to deal with allergies is to eat a spoonful of local honey every day. Just make sure that it's LOCAL honey...not just any old kind the store sells. It will be a little more expensive, but it will help more due to local pollination habits. Good luck!
Keep an eye on the use of predisone. It can cause liver problems with extended use. I'm not sure if your son is old enough but we switched to albuterol for emergencies and singular for daily. It made a huge difference in breathing. But my son was older.
Unfortunately when school starts for him it may be worse. Hopefully right now he is building up anti bodies and when he starts school he will be great! :)
It just might be worth the expense to visit your previous doctor, even if you have to pay out of pocket. Your doctor may even cut you a break. When I had to change health insurance years ago, there was no way I was going to switch doctors for four kids, especially knowing that the next year my employer could change plans again. My doctor charged me less knowing I was paying for the visits. Sure enough, the next year, he was on our plan again. The point is, you need to have a doctor who will listen to you and DO SOMETHING.
With my four kids, it's always my oldest daughter who gets the bad stuff - diseases, conditions, even injuries. She's a teenager now and it does make her angry that she seemed to have gotten all the bad genes from her parents while her siblings got the good genes.
I know this sounds trite and you've probably already been down this path, but healthy eating and exercise can make a big difference. If you can get him to eat good foods and get plenty of exercise when he's feeling good, he may be better able to fight off illness. Also - I swear this works - whenever I'm starting to feel a little sick, I drink Tropicana orange juice - the really expensive stuff that's not from concentrate - and it seems to ward off the illness. I guess it's the boost of vitamin C.
Another thought is, you may want to find a good chiropractor. I had two friends years ago (since moved away) who were husband and wife chiropractors and they told me that with all my daughter's health issues, she should get regular adjustments. They told me that good chiropractic care can actually help with allergies. I didn't go this route only because my daughter was a terrible patient and wouldn't put up with that!
If it makes you feel any better, my mother was a very sickly child, always weak and ill and missing school. She grew out of it and is a very healthy active grandma!
My son is pretty much going through the same sort of thing as your son and I rented a book from the library this past Saturday that I am still in the process of reading, but it has opened my eyes to so much about what is going on with him and what to expect. The book is called "The Complete Kid's Allergy and Asthma Guide" and it is filled with so much information about the different things to expect from both, certain things to avoid, and how to make your son's environment more "allergy friendly". Like I mentioned before, I am still in the process of reading the book so I don't have any experience to back up their techniques and suggestions, but a lot of them make sense to me and I am putting some of them into practice now and going to see if any of the ideas at least help my son's situation. Good luck!
E.,
I am a SAHM of 3 kids, 12, 10 and 8. I have helped many families over the past 6 years with children's asthma and allergies. Part of the problem is that their immune system is compromised and so the body is turning on itself. Prednisone may have helped clear the infection, but it also breaks down your sons immune system even further.
If you have a friend that shares nutrition and wellness education and recommends Juice Plus+ - concentrated fruits and vegetables in capsule, chewable and gummie, you absolutely should contact her immediately. If you don't know someone, let me know and I can send you some information.
Getting my family on Juice Plus+ has been the foundation of better health and disease prevention for us and many others I have helped. When you see the scientific research that demonstrates balancing of the immune system in human participants, you will be impressed. This is the number one selling whole food nutritional in the world and also the most thoroughly researched.
I became a distributor after seeing health benefits in my family and wanted to share wellness and nutrition education with other families that are constantly on pharmaceuticals and OTC meds.
I have a lot of other suggestions - but the foundation is getting your son's immune system balanced, then looking at other components and allergens in his diet that may be exaccerbating his condition. Good luck and better health to you and your family. Let me hear what you decide. P.
I was a small baby (4lbs 5 ozs) and sick ALL the time when I was a kid. Strep throat at least once a year, when I was older, it was sinus infections. And I had really bad allergies. But on the plus side, I hardly ever get sick now. It stinks when they are little, I know, but hopefully it will strengthen his immune system in the long run. I would take the advice of everyone about checking the home for hidden allergens and getting a good doctor, but I do think he'll eventually outgrow it. Good luck!
Other people have probably already suggested this, but I only have one word - CHIROPRACTOR! My son was sick constantly from 9 months to 2 years. His bronchial tubes would swell shut even with being on an asthma machine every 2 hours (even through the night) constantly had viral infection, ear infections, the flu, you name it. After I was tired of shoving medicine & treatments at him (as this was our only relationship, it seemed) I took him to a chiropractor & she totally changed our life around! It took alot of commitment on my part, but no more than getting up every 2 hours to do asthma treatments, which now I look back on & figure couldn't have been good for him! Good luck! You and your son both deserve healthier life!
Hi E.,
Your son sounds just like me when I was his age. My parents had a horrible time with it and they decided not to have any more kids b/c of me, so I know how hard this is on you.
I was in and out of doctors offices and the hospital. I was and still am allergic to everything, although I have grown out of my food allergies. My asthma makes everything worse too. I have done allergy shots three times (I am on my third year of my third round, the other two where when I was young.) Anyway, I have tired EVERYTHING to "cure" it with no result. I use medicine to control it and only have bad days in the spring and fall and a few sinus infections a year.
I have tired every medication and these are the ones that work best for me...Zyrtec, Advair, Nasonex, Pantenol, Albuterol, plus tylonol sinus as needed. I take these everyday and they keep it under control. It is a lot of work but better than being miserable.
I am not sure if I helped you or not, and this is something your son is always going to deal with. The good news is...that I don't ever get sick! If I do have a some bad allergy issues is sometimes turns into a sinus infection (I had sinus surgery to cut down on these, definitely recomend it.) But that is it, no colds, no flu, nothing...knock on wood.
Good Luck!
My girls have state healthcare, and I did not like the first Dr we got. Seems like all of the Drs had closed panels for new patients. I called all of the Drs and finally, one of the nurses said she would talk to the Dr and see if he would accept my children. He opened the panel just for us. So there is a way to get a good Dr, and one that you trust. I love our Dr, and so do my girlies. Do a little leg work, and get a Dr that you love. Then you will feel better. Good luck!!! I will be praying that you will get a new DR!!!!!!!!!
Have you had his adnois (spelling??) checked? I had a friend who seemed to have the same thing happen with her daughter, and they removed her adnois and she has been healthy ever since. Just a thought, that maybe it would be worth checking into...I also think she had her tonsils removed as well, because of the strep thoat she was always getting. Also have you checked about getting tubes in the ears, if he always has ear infections that could be a problem too, and tubes in the ears works great. Hopefully your son will be healthy in no time. C. Freeman
If you are not already I would load him up on vitamin c. Get the chewable kind and let him have as much as he will eat, spaced out through the day and evening. His body will get rid of any he can't use and the more infections he has, the higher his tolerance will be. It is perfectly safe and don't let anyone tell you it's not effective. Vitamin C in large doses fight all sorts of infections.
You can also give him various herbal formulas with echinacea and golden seal. But these can be overdone so look for formulas meant for kids and don't over dose him.
Does he eat yogurt? Yogurt is another natural antibiotic as is garlic. So try and get as much of these 2 things in him as possible.
A good basic chewable vitamin is also good but remember that many vitamins, like vitamin A an be over done.
Take a good look down his throat and see how big his tonsils are. My 3rd daughter was sick constantly and we finally figured out her tonsils were too big. They were not infected but they harbored all sorts of germs. After she had them removed she was sick at least 50% of the time as before.
Also, make sure he is brushing his teeth constantly and as much as possible. Any tooth infections can cause a lot of sickness and tends to go unchecked often. I've even seen articles linking heart disease to mouth infections caused by gum disease and lack of proper dental care.
Do you run an air purifier in your home? You may have already thought of this. But you can have alergy filters on the furnace as well as purifiers all over the house. You can use the small ones that plug into the wall in various rooms if you need to invest a little money at a time.
What about juicing? If you can find a juicer you can make apple/carrot juice and Pear/apple/carrot juice. These are immune boosters as well.
I'm a big believer in natural healing. You can't go wrong and the doctors really have no stake in getting you well. They want us to feel better enough for us to trust them but to stay sick so we will keep going back.
Suzi
Hi E.-
If you are open to alternative treatments I have the name of two doctors who can definitely help your son. The one will more than likely be able to cure your son of his allergies and asthma. I have had allergies to lots of things and my 3 almost four year old daughter has had many allergies that led to ulcerative colitis when she was just 7 months old until now. So, I have firsthand knowledge of what works and can heal your son and change his life. I understand how frustrating it is to feel like you cannot help your child and have doctors not help them. This was my experience until I found these two doctors. And, your son will not grow out of it but would probably just continue to get sick. Sometimes allergies can change and manifest in different ways in your body but they will never truly go away unless you heal the body. Dr. Salas has many patients that travel from very far away to get treated....he is the only doctor in the city who does this kind of work and he is also a DAN doctor. He will be able to help your son.

My first thought is to look at his diet. Is he getting enough fruits and vegetables, vitamins and minerals? Some common allergens like dairy, eggs, etc. can weaken the immune system. I would take him to a homeopathic doctor or holistic practitioner and see if there are some ways they can naturally strengthen his immune system. Regular doctors can be great and necessary, but they don't often look at the whole system and how everything works together. They are trained mostly to treat illnesses and not on how to prevent them or look at the effects of all the factors working together. A homeopathic or similar type of doctor in addition to his regular doctor could be very helpful.
As a child I was allergic to peanut butter, pets, grass, and many others. I grew out of it, however now I am allergic to pets again, but not peanut butter or the other things. I have heard that all your body's cells replace themselves every 7 years, and this can effect what you are allergic/not allergic to.
I also agree with some of the other posts that you should look closely at your home and get rid of all the toxic cleaners and stick to non-toxic cleaners. Most regular grocery stores carry several brands like "Greening the Cleaning" or "7th Generation." They might cost a little more, but if it helps your son stay healthy, it would definitely be cheaper than all the doctor's visits, not to mention that his health is priceless. Also worth switching for some time to see if it helps, is his bath and lotion products. They make all kinds of non-harmful kids bath/shampoo products now in health food sections and health food stores (for example, many Jophnson&Johnson products have harmful formaldehyde in them but it's not listed as that on the label. Natural products shouldn't have all the harmful chemicals added that can make him sick).
A great book to read is "If It's Not Food, Don't Eat It" by Kelly Hayford, C.N.C. It is really informative and discusses how food and nutrition plays a role in all kinds of health issues, including asthma, common colds, cancer, arthritis, blood pressure, etc. the list goes on. It's a great book! Can be found for cheap on Amazon.com
Best wishes for your family!
Dear E.,
Have you thought about going to a Naturalist/Homeopathic Doctor to see if the root of all his allergies are wheat, corn, and/or dairy driven?? Another natural alternative that
coincides with homeopahty is chiropractic. Just a thought since traditional medicine seems to be running you and your little guy in circles.
In My Prayers, M. N.
p.s. a natural anti-biotic/immune-booster is honey made from the bees and pollen in your area/community.
I am not a health care provider and will not assume to comment on what your son's health issues may be. He may grow out of all of these issues, some of them or none of them. Some kids get sick more often than others.
What I do want to emphasize is that you and your husband are son's advocates. No one is going to or should do that job. I understand health insurance limitations, but either find another dr or speak up to this one and tell him you feel underserved. He's not going to slow down for you unless you ask. Try to be as prepared as possible before an appointment. Have specific questions. I bring a writing pad to my visits so I can write stuff down. Ask him to spell things out, etc. Maybe if he sees how serious you are about all this, he will give you more time. Maybe not, but you have to try.
You may want to try some alternatives. Research on your own or visit a nutritionist. Maybe there are some things he should or shouldn't eat that might help. Maybe more immune boosting foods will help, mucus reducing foods, etc. My guess is there is no one answer here.
You may want to consider swimming as an activity for him. There is some information that swimming is a good activity for kids with asthma, especially a good indoor pool. I suppose the theory is the humid air helps. I'm an advocate for swimming as recreation, fitness, and water safety anyway. Stay away from a pool where you smell an overwhelming cholrine smell, that will probably be bad for your son's asthma.
Good luck and keep trying!
I was surprised how much better my son slept because lavendar oil on his pillow helped his sinuses and was relaxing. You may be surprised what may help.
Hi E., both of my step-children were always sick when we'd get them, until we moved them in. I make sure I give them vitamins everyday, and during the summer give them the allergy stuff. I have since become a customer and business partner with a 100% natural wellness company. Since I've switched everything in my home to the green products that my company offers, my kids are very rarely ill anymore. If you'd like more information go ahead to my site and I can see about helping you! My site is: http://J..freedomunitedteam.com
I hope I was able to help you in some manner!:)

Hi, First of all, Do some detective work around your home, especially near and around his room. Look for signs of hidden black mold. If his room is near the bathroom, check out the wall nearest his room and behind the shower walls. Leave no stone unturned. It could be the house that is making the poor little guy so sick...good luck, cj
Have you ever considered chiropractic care? My sister's little girl had lots of trouble similar to your son's problems, and she started seeing a chiropractor, and it made a huge difference. I'm not medically knowledgeable, but I do know it's natural, rather than using lots of medication. In the long run, they're healthier, and you save money. I hope this is encouraging to you.
I have to agree with a some of the stuff people said. First, the chemicals in our every day products do make a difference in our health, we just don't have a clue until somehow we stumble on the information. My mom was an oncology nurse (cancer) for years and got very curious about the causes of cancer and other diseases/sicknesses. She did a lot of research. Due to her research, most of our family and many of our friends have switched our homes over to non-toxic/environmentally friendly products. We have seen BIG results. My little brother lost life-long asthma symptoms. I lost my four times a year bouts with sinus infections. My mom's best friend who was in her forties got to quit using her inhaler for the first time in many years. It has been such a blessing for us. The company we use for all of our products is Melaleuca, because it is very simple to internet or phone order, they have almost everything you need for running a house, so the only thing you go to the store for are groceries and paper products, and they ship to your door. They do require a membership and minimum order per month, though. I don't find it hard to meet the minimum at all, with my family of three. If you don't like the membership thing, you can easily find great products like Mrs. Meyers cleaning stuff, and searching for organic or natural products on google. I do a lot of searches for these things, because it is one of my major interests.
Oh, and the chiropractic care could make a major difference, too. I know I wrote a book, so I'll quit now! :) Hope that something makes a big change for your family!
My son has had asthma since he was little. he's 14 now and does not suffer like he used to. When he was young (1.5 until he was probably 4.5) I would call the doctors office and identify myself and the child that I was calling about, they would say "see you in 15 min." because it would take 15 minutes to get there. They were waiting and always took us right back to a room. We were there so much that we knew all the office staff by name. They would check him out and if he was really in distress bad they would give him a shot of epinephrine then the nebulizer treatment. IF you don't have a nebulizer I would check into getting one. If you use pump inhalers make sure to use an Aerochamber (pediatric size). This will help the child to get the medication instead of possibly wasting it. We also attended asthma support group meetings. We learned a lot from the meetings. Our pediatrician had a special program tailored to children about their asthma and how to handle it. We also saw a pediatric pulmonologist, he checked him out thoroughly and talked to him. He determined that his asthma was being triggered by allergies and acid reflux. He gave meds for that and it helped a lot. You never get over asthma but with proper treatment you can be symptom free.
OK..Well My 2 y/o - Little Louie was sick a lot last year. He brought everything home from Daycare, and then passed it on to me. He was sick all of the time with a cold or flu or ear infections - OH man I cried all of the time in the car on my way to work because I could not stay home with him, which a MOM should be able to do. We would sink w/o my salary and I am happy to provide for my family, but I felt guilty for not being there. Lately though (and I do not want to jinx us) We have been blessed that he has not been sick. he has a lot of ear infections but seems to be getting better and perhaps growing out of it. I understand the state insurance - it's tough, especially when my husband and I both work. My husband is a police officer and his insurance only covers HIM - isn't that horrible, a police officer risking his life, & his family is not covered. I just NOD my head discusted. I work contract so we have to buy insurance and it does not cover some things. We had to pick a Dr. from the list, but unlike you we are OK with Louie's Dr.
I am really sorry that your little guy is sick, I know that you must feel so helpless and sad that you cannot make it all better. We have 4 dogs, and when I was pregnant I was so scared that he would be allergic to dogs - Thank GOD he isn't because my dogs are also my children....I really need them. E., I am going to pray for you with all of my heart. With GOD all things are possible and thru prayer we are gonna get results. Keep praying ... It is my prayer that he will grow out of it. On another note do any allergy medicines help him? We keep Louie on childrens Claritin and give him tylenol - it helps a lot...& I take a flinstone vitamin and dissolve it in a little water and give it to him thru a medicine plunger. He does not like them and cant chew them good anyway, but I'll tell ya, between the Claratin and the Vitamin he has felt better and feeling better has made him a happier child. We are truly blessed. he is our only one. We are older parents and he was quite a surprise. JR, my husband got fixed. We decided to stop with "PERFECTION". Good Luck Sweetie and God Bless.
Yes, my oldest son (4 years old)was sick constantly until I started taking him to our chiropractor, I know this is suprising but everything in your body is connected! He has gotten rid of all my son's food allergies And he had me put him on ProBiotics from the health food store, he has gotten sick once this entire year and it only lasted a few days! I have seen Dr. Clarke get rid of asthma in other kids as well. He has been seeing my youngest son since he was 3 days old due to serious problems he had when he was born. My youngest is doing VERY well! I highly reccomend Dr. Clarke, I was going crazy, trying everything under the sun to keep my children well. My boys are VERY active and healthy and I do not have to worry about whats on the menu b/c they can eat everything now. Dr. Clarke is wonderful with kids, he has 5 of his own and 3 grandchildren. He will work with you on finances as well.

I don't have much advice for you but I do know just from what I hear and what I read eating well sleeping good, using a vacuum with a Hepa filter will help trap allergins and that whoever is having the asthma to wear a dustmask to help prevent the allergins effecting the respitory system, using natural cleaning supplies will benefit from the chemical ones that have really harsh fumes that burn your nose and chest just breathing them in for me I can't take it anymore and what is it doing to my kid's I ask myself so I quit using them.Keeping house the dust accumulation down also an air purifier in his bedroom.Unsure how to put this one but making sure your home isn't invested with roaches mice rat's or anyother pest might be a good idea to consider these roaches put off a vapor that affect's the respitory system. And for him out growing it what has your Dr. said my neighbor her son had really bad asthma now his a teenager nothing he's fine. One more thing keep him away from second hand smoke
Lots of Vitamin C, no junk food, eat veggies and fruits, if you can afford organic buy it, if not, don't beat yourself up about it. consistent schedule. And make sure he is not holding grudges against anyone at his tender age. You would be shocked at the anger children have at a young age, and it brings down immunity. Prednisone is a steroid!!! Athletes destroy themselves with steroids. You might not realize the dangers to internal organs! Very destructive to the liver...example, birth control pills are steroids...they are very hard on the liver. Also, don't buy into that remove adenoids and tonsils thing. They are part of our immune system. Consult health food stores and Naturopathic Doctors...NDs. Serious personal experience. I want mine back. They took mine when I was 10.
