My daughter will be turning 7 and she wants a high school musical theme. Does anyone have ideas on theme related games and food to serve? i thought about doing the prom theme from hsm3 but then couldnt think of other activities to go with that, plus that maybe a little too old for them. let me know if you have any ideas, they would greatly be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

What can I do next?

Look at Oriental Trading. They have plates, cups, etc High School Musical theme plus a question and answer game. I personally havent seen the movies but did they eat anything in particular that you could possible serve? Of course you can do relay races and hand out prizes. I wouldnt make too much of it, the kids will entertain themselves alot at that age. Maybe get the sound track and have it playing in the background. I can't think of too much else at the moment. Hope this can get you started. Good Luck!

You could just use the theme for the play...the kids could dress up like the cast of the play..also, not sure if she already has this game or not - but Wal-mart has a HSM3 Dance Revolution (I think thats what its called) game that can be used with Playstation, etc. that would be fun for the kids. I think they can dance and sing along. It may be $60 or so, not too sure of the price but also an idea for a gift! Good luck and have fun! All my girls love those movies!

Maybe you could have a dance off to the soundtrack. You could also play freeze dance to the music and when you turn it off everyone freezes. Good luck!

I just did the HSM theme for my daughters 8th birthday in December. We had simple cupcakes with glittery sprinkles on top, and large plastic jeweled rings on each on, them put them on one of the Wilton cupcake "trees", I think that is what they are called, the girls loved them. I also did round sugar cookies with the glittery sprinkles and holes in the middle so they looked like CD's.
I purchases different costumes- HSM and Hannah Montana- and wigs after Halloween while they were very cheap, and the girls dressed up and did Karaoke. The girls sung two at time, and the other girls did sound, spot lights (flash lights) photos, and video.
To decorate, we moved the furniture out of out game room, and created a dance area, with Christmas lights around the ceiling, and paper stars dangling. They danced to a Disney dance CD, it had the favorites- YMCA, Cha Cha slide, Macarena,.... The girls also played freeze dance.
Hope this helps!

Hi! This sounds like such fun! My daughter had a similar party last year. We went all out in the decor and favorite Disney music downloads, and even had a red carpet theme as they walked in with the strobe lights (gave the effect of papparazi cameras:).

Well, as it turned out, all the planning was pretty much put on the back burner cause all they did was laugh, dance and eat and just gossip like little ones do. So, just focus on the decor and make the environment fun looking and they will have a ball! Your daughter will be the hostess and will be able to do whatever she feels like as you just observe and have the party essentials like drinks, cake and candy accessible:)

ENJOY!

Your 7 year old daughter is too young for a high school theme party. If you do high school at age 7, what do you think she'll want to do when she gets to high school. Gear her party theme to the level of a 7 year old. She may be a little dissappointed at first, but when party time rolls around, she'll be OK. Have her make a second choice because her first choice is certainly not a good one.

I love the theme. Adorable. I recommend hiring a photographer to capture the moments so you don't have to.
