I am a single mom and will be home schooling my son. My problem is: I live with my parents and would like to contribute to the bills. Does anyone know of how I can balance working and schooling? What type of jobs are out there with that type of flexibility? I really want to work. I am a Certified Coding Specialist. Any suggestions?

What can I do next?

Hi A.,

I am a single, homeschooling, WAHM. I have been working at home for several years and have many great resources I can give you. One of the best is Women for Hre - http://www.womenforhire.com/work_from_home
They have information and links to several companies for "real" jobs that you can apply for, including coding.

You are lucky that you already have your certification and I am sure you will find something quickly. There are plenty of Medical Coding and Transcription jobs at home. I would love to do coding at home, but have not been able to take the classes.

If you don't mind, I can send you a private message with more of my resources. Otherwise, this would turn into a book! :-)

Good luck!

I am homeschooling during the day and working in the evening. I set up my schedule so that we have the required 5 hours a day for school. If needed, my son can do some of the work on his own while I am at work. I will only be working part time and if need be I will be working another part time job on the weekends. Are you homeschooling on your own or are you using the online classes like PA Cyber has? I think there are some doctor's offices that need extra help and have moms that work at home to help out. Try calling around a bit. It can't hurt. My sister works for a woman out of her home and it's very flexible. Have you tried posting your resume online?

Hi A.!
I am a stay at home Mom but last October I started selling Premier Designs Jewelry at homeshows or craftshows and it really fits my life right now. I stay at home with my kiddos during the day then do 4 or 5 homeshows, usually on weekends, during the month. On average I bring in $200 per show. I love Premier as it is a Christian company who is in the Direct Selling Associations Hall of Fame and has been around almost 25 years but check out all the direct selling companies and see which one might fit you best.
After doing this for almost a year, I can't see myself EVER working a 9 to 5 job for someone else again!!
If you have any questions, send me an email, I'd be happy to share my experiences with the company.
Good luck, there are a lot of options for part time work. I pray you find the perfect one for your situation!
