There is a web page for homeschooling. How to set it up and the paperwork required for the state etc. For nothing can I remember the name. I would caution though at this age, I had a friend who homeschooled his kid and as soon as she got out she was not prepared for the real world hooked up with some joker got her self pregnant and then the guy dumped her. I would still put her in other activities were she can interact with others so she see what the real world is about and beable to protect herself.

I'm assuming you mean "what curriculum" is best not what physical school. I'd start looking around. Something friends do is co-op learning. One family does science and another math and another French. The kids get the lessons from the parent best able to teach that course. Some parents put their kids in community college (say for English 101 or advanced math) if appropriate. Another benefit to co-ops and similar is that the kid has a "class". Definitely keep your daughter engaged in activities and clubs - I'm sure there are a bunch - for her own social development.

I was teased relentlessly in High school and opted to do my Senior Year with American School, located in Lansing, IL. It was a very good mail/home school and I liked it. Even now though, at 29, I still wish I would have stuck it out though, because I missed going to my own Senior Prom, graduation, etc. These are all things that didn't bother me at 17, but now I will never get back the opportunity to experience, so I just wanted to mention that fact along with my recommendation... in case there is still a chance she might go to public school.

What do you mean? You want to know which high school is best but you are homeschooling? Do the schools where you live have homeschool programs? I'm a homeschooler (daughter is only 8, and then rest are 4 and younger, so I don't have a ton of experience yet!), and I love it.

Please update your question and clarify, are you asking what curriculum is best or which charter/private/virtual schools?

Personally I would not use any charter or academy that is funded by the government or public school system. Connecting Waters, K12, and a few others I know of are funded by the public schools. These kinds of schools typically pay the members for curriculum and classes. But the member is signing away their religious and parental freedom when they accept these kinds of monies.

The whole point of homeschooling for many of us is to veer away from the control /indoctrination of the schools and the anti moral values and attitudes that they so wrongly portray to the student as desirable.

So my answer would be to set yourself up as your own private school. Check online for the Illinois state homeschooling support site. Some states require you to register an affidavit with the state dept of education. Your Illinois homeschool support site should tell you everything you need to know to make that happen. Sign up with HSLDA. Also, 'yahoogroups.com" should have a listing of homeschool support groups in your area (also check craigs list, meetup.com, etc.) These groups are usually free and have an e loop where people can post up coming classes, field trips, and park days. You can ask questions on these sites for curriculum and material references. You didn't say weather you were religious or not, but if you are,
some of the better curriculum in my opinion are: Apologia science and Rod and Staff English series (may need to start at lower grades because it is advanced.) I like Chalkdust for math.
