Just thinking ahead to the school age years... which is about 3 years away. Considering homeschooling in St. Paul, MN and interested in starting a Co-op with a handful of other like minded parents. Anyone out there have experience with doing something like this?

I'm in the Austin, Tx area so I can't speak to your exact question, but wanted to give you a great resource for first year home schoolers...they also have some materials that are good for folks starting co ops. www.smoothingtheway.com I've been home schooling for ten years and went to the seminars when they were in their second year. Now they have their information in webinar form so it goes beyond the local area. I know that the person who started this organization has gone to Minnesota and spoken at conventions...so you may have already come across this. She's also done Starting the Way seminars for moms who want to start preparing their pre schoolers. Great ideas!

Good luck to you. I am on my second year home schooling and am just now getting involved with a home school group and I know we have Co-op here. I must say that I didn't realize just how big home schooling is until we got involved in it. And since I am the only one who home schools out of all of my friends and family I hear about all the stuff that happens in public school, and become even more thankful to God for the oppertunity.

We did one many years ago. We picked one day a week and took turns teaching classes. It was fun and worked well. We did it in a boys and girls club.
good luck,
