Hi M.! We're a homeschooling family also, going into our 8th (9th?) year! I have 4 children of my own (dd almost 12, ds 9, ds 6, ds almost 4) and I am homeschooling my neice (10) this year also.
We're in South Garland and have lived here for 3 years, but are still members of the Collin County Homeschool Playgroup which primarily meets in Plano/Allen. It's a great group that we've been members of since it started. We don't go to the Allen playdates though. That group is here:

It's a very nice group, the owner/moderator Aimee is great. We recently left it though b/c it's primarily younger kids, and my "older" ones need more "older" kids. I also just could not make their playdates. Great group though.
There is also a group called Homeschoolers East. The owner/mod of that group (Valerie) is great also, we were members for a short time a few years ago - great group, just not the right fit for us. They also have a co-op.

Occasionally I post a playdate at Springfield park in Rowlett b/c there are no good parks in Garland. I haven't posted one in a while though.
I have yet to find a group that is a good fit for us in this area, but we are grateful for the Collin County Homeschool Playgroup as that group has always been a good fit for us!
