What do you do with unused workbooks and teacher/parent handbooks?
I have stuff from second grade and third grade that are in good condition and some workbooks that were never used. I am looking for some place to donate or sell them.
I was at the Florida homeschool convention this year and never thought to ask anyone there.
Our homeschool friends are in the same age range (grade) as my daughter. We did not join any co-ops or groups since most are too far from our area.
Thanks Ladies,
I have some emails out there to see if anyone can use them. I wasn't sure if there was a specific website that homeschoolers used to trade, sell or donate. I'm not really looking to make money I just don't like them sitting around when someone else could be using them.

we always passed them along to other people in our co-ops (we belonged to a few.) even if yours aren't geographically near, surely you're on some local email lists, right? ones you've joined to hear about classes or field trips or other events?
i mean, if there's NOBODY, just take them to your local used book store. you'll get pennies on the dollar, but someone will be grateful to be able to pick them up cheaply.

Do/did you be log to a homeschool co-op? I'd start there ad see if any families have children that age who could use them. Or try craigslist or homeschool websites you may be connected with and see if you can connect with anyone that way. Also, try your library. There maybe be some homeschool groups that use the library that could use them. As a last resort, go too your local elementary school. Around here, some homeschoolers go to the elementary schools for enrichment classes like pays. ed pro music. Worth a shot.
We go to the HSC conference in California, and there's always a used book sale there. Basically, you sell your old curriculum for yard sale prices (most books under $5, unless they're high school science books or similar, that were super expensive to begin with). You also have the option to donate the proceeds to HSC, if you feel like doing that rather than getting your $10 back. ;) I sell my Life of Fred books on the LOF Facebook page (where you can usually get close to full price for them).
In our area we have a yahoo group where people frequently post homeschooling materials for sale. We also have a woman who runs a consignment store for homeschoolers, as well as a few large consignment sales held each year specifically for the homeschooling community to buy and sell their books, workbooks, etc.. I suspect you might be able to locate something of this sort in your area. If you're friends with other homeschoolers or involved in a group of any kind, just ask around. There are always veterans who can point you in the right direction.
Hi! I've sold stuff on Vegsource and Craigslist and our state list as it has a curriculum selling arm.
