Are there any moms on here that have had any hormonal issues?? I had a small cyst pop on my ovary no bleeding no pain but than I got Anemia (which I hvae had in the past) however this time I was low a level 9. I could barely get off the couch. I finally got the level up but my OB/GYN prescribed Yaz birth control pills to prevent another cyst and to shorten my period she said for a couple months. I was reluctant to take the pill but did and 3 weeks into started getting headaches restless. The day before my period I had bad cramps and never had I was crying and than mad got depressed and sad I had never felt like this before I stopped the pill but than my thyroid flared up and that is making me go crazy. Iam sakey hot balance is off agghhhhh iam a mess. Has anyone had any similar symptoms. I need help!

What can I do next?

Has anyone checked to see if you are pre-menopausal, yet? I am an 8 right now with the anemia, but I am going to a hematologist first before they treat me for anything. I was spotting between periods but that has now stopped, however they last for almost 8 days or so. Sounds like Yaz is not the right type for you; maybe you need a lower estrogen pill and I'd ask to have your thyroid tested as well. If you want a good endocrinologist, I know of one in Melbourne.

Hi K.,
I have cysts also (at least every other month) I have some pain, but no bleeding. They often pop if I move th wrong way.
I also get very "emotional" when I am not on the pill. I take Ortho Trycyclen, it is the only pill that seems to help the mood swings and get rid of the cramps, although none of the other pills I have tried seems to help get rid of the cysts.
I had origionally gone on the pill when I was younger just to help with the cramps ( I was in bed for 2 or 3 days a month ).
I don't know if any of this will help you, but I just wanted to you to know that you are not alone in this "battle" with hormone problems.

I went through similar issues with my endometriosis. I became anemic at times, tried different pills and found that I had to be on the lowest dosed one. I went through labor pain like periods every period. I started hating being female and felt cursed because no doctor could help me. My aunt had a cyst on her ovary that they froze off. I think they gave you the wrong dose of pill. I think you just need to try different ones until you find one that will work. It can be very frustrating but I hope this helps. Eventually the right one will work but if you are not happy with your doctor and the results you are getting then change that doctor. Another piece of help I have for you. Get natural progestrin. It comes in the cream form. You can get it from the natural doctors and some health food stores may carry it. Or online. It will balance things out and works very fast. It is awesome but can be a little expensive. I hope this helps.

Take care,
L.

K.,
I had a mid-cycle cyst a year ago in Jan. (with mid-cycle bleeding) Dr. said it would take care of itself, and it did... actually I got pregnant the following month and now have a 1 year old!!!
As another post said, Ortho Tricyclen helped with being bedridden with cramps before my pregnancy. Since I've gone back on the pill (after nursing), I'm on YAZ. I've actually had great success with it. It has seriously limited my period to half the time (now 3-4 days where it used to be 7+) and NO abdominal cramps!!! I still had mild to moderate cramps before with the Ortho (not enough to be bedridden, but sometimes very uncomfortable.)
Just wanted you to know that YAZ had worked for me, yet since you mentioned it, it may contribute to headaches or "hot flashes" I have experienced. (Not sure what's worse -- that or cramps! LOL)
Good luck finding what works for you. TELL your Doctor, keep looking for what works for you.

I never had cysts but my doctor prescribed those pills just for birth control. After a couple of weeks I started spotting and then I felt really depressed. After I stopped taking them I went back to normal. I haven't taken them again.
