I have to agree with the mom sho said to use the Unisom/vitamin b combo. Call you doctor or midwife and see if they agree. Since you are 12 weeks, chances are you won't need it long. Good luck!
I am about 12-13 weeks pregnant and my morning sickness is completely unbearable, im nauseous all day long anything i eat i cant keep down and im constantly getting this unbearable headaches. When i was pregnant with my first i was no where near sick like this. Any suggestions how i can deal with this and any idea when the morning sickness may end?

Dear Mom,
Sounds like this one could be a Little Girl.
( Just a guess LOL)
Make sure your drinking enough fluids, take your prenatal vitamins at night, and try eating fruits and veggies instead of breads.
I am sorry you are so sick, I hope you feel better,
Try not to stress yourself out too much, it will all work itself out.
You need a break. try and relax a little.

I am 20-21 weeks preg now...and am STILL nauseous! What helps me is anything really sour. Breakfast is like a cinnamon raisin bagel. Lunch and dinner is really tough. Tomatoes with balsamic vinegrette is really good. Carrots with Ranch sauce as snack. I try to eat an egg everyother day for protein. I don't like water but if it's REALLY icy then it's good. The Taco Bell fruit icee is very good. Certain slurpees are terrible. In office, I keep some chocolates such as those rolled wafers with chocolate inside it. Chocolate helps with nausea. My mom and some friends sent me those Taiwanese dried prunes which are really sour...little sweet & salty (which works best).
I've tried flat ginger ale and saltines as well as sour lemon drops...but none worked for me!

I know exactly what you are going through. I had the worst morning sickness as well that lasted all day until I was about 4 months. I felt like I was going to DIE! All my duaghter let me eat without throwing it up was Romen soup and Honey Bunches of Oats Cereal! LOL. Try snacking on saltines. I heard this works well for MS, and it sometimes worked for me... Also try the mint balls. The ones that are white and red stripped. These work too... hang in there, it will get better, (hopefully). Good luck!!
I had this with my last child. It was the worst I morning sickness I ever experienced, with 4 children. I called my midwife's office, they said to go directly to the hospital, I was dehydrated after 2 days of bringing everything, including water, back up.
They gave me Reglan? in the hospital, but that didn't work, so they gave me Zofran. (It's what they give cancer patients while on chemotherapy, and is safe for pregnant women). It was the only thing that worked for me, but its hard to get perscribed from your doctor without a fight (depending on insurance). I went home with other meds, and went back to the hospital the next weekend again. My doctor gave me samples of meltaways that tasted bad, but they worked.
My 2nd visit to the hospital, I discovered the miracle of ice. I chewed ice cubes day and night, everytime I felt nauseaus and it cooled my stomach enough to eat, plus the zofran, worked miracles for me, which I finally got a script for, and paid $93 for 3 pills, and broke them in half!
Now, they have zofran in generic, so it will be alot cheaper and maybe even easier to get for severe morning sickness. (unfortunately, I know more about Zofran because 3 years ago, after I used the product and after that baby was born (less than 3 weeks old), my 13 year old daughter was diagnosed with a brain tumor, cancer. After immediate surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy, severe weight loss and lots of Zofran over 2 years, she is currently in remission. Thank God!)
I was also advised to try ginger ale, saltine crackers, ginger snaps, drinking lots of fluids (in sips, not gulps), acid reducers, and antacids. Dont forget anything your body is craving, in small amounts. I had fits of wanting raw potatoes, sliced tomatoes(with nothing else), and grape juice.
Good luck. I hope you find something that works for you.
I feel your pain. With my first child, I was nauseous 24/7 for the first 7 months of my pregnancy. I was prescribed Zofran by my doctor at around 10 weeks of pregnancy when I could not even keep water down. The Zofran helped with the vomiting, but I was still nauseous most of the day. I tried everything - lemon water, saltines, gingerale, ginger tea, sea sickness wristbands, changing what I eat and the times I ate... nothing worked for me. My son was born perfectly healthy. I am now 6 months pregnant with my second and have been taking the generic version of Zofran daily since week 5. If you haven't tried the Zofran yet, I strongly suggest giving it a try. It was a life saver for me. Good luck and hang in there!
Hi L.,
Im sorry you are feeling so sick....I was the same way...nauseous 24/7 and for me it lasted for about the first 4 months....the only thing I could keep down was cheese and crackers....as crazy as it sounds....I tried everything....one other thing that worked was preggy pops from the store Motherhood...you can also buy them at Babies R Us....they have lollipops and circle candies....dont be alarmed by the flavors, as they are all sour crazy flavors...but suposedly sour helps with the morning sickness....I have heard that when you have very bad morning sickness, you are having a girl....and I did have a girl....My OB did tell me to have gingerale and crackers next to my bed and to eat them before I even got out of bed in the morning...so that may be another thing you can try....I hope you feel better and that it passes soon!!
Meg :)
I am fighting all day "morning" sickness too, and it sucks, so sorry! I have been reading about vitamin B6 supplements that are supposed to be very helpful. They make these lozenges called b-natal ( i think) that are kinda pricey, but they are supposed to work really well. My doctor's office also told me if it was really bad to try unisome. It totally sounds strange, but they said that it's a class a drug that is virtually as safe as vitamins ( their words not mine) and that taking 1/2 a pill in the morning, 1/2 pill in the afternoon, and 1/2 - 1 pill at night if you wake up sick too. Also I would personally recommend finding a homeopathic remedy that will work for you. They can be kind of tricky to pick the right one if you are not familiar with them, but they are completely safe and can really help. Any way, best of luck, hope you find something that will work for you. Oh one more thing, high protein diets are supposed to help too. Ok now I'm done:)
Hi L.,
It's been quite a few years, but if I remember correctly,
I found that saltine crackers helped. Also, drink as much fluids as you possibly can. My OB recommended gatorade to help prevent dehydration.
It usually gets better around 20 weeks and stops around 25.
Try eating all different types of foods to see what stays down the best. For me I couldn't eat any type of meat, and found veggies stayed down the best.
Good luck.
L.,
With my second pregnancy I was found a drink that got rid of my nausea almost immediately. Take two lemons, peel them, take the pits out, stick them in the food processor, add 1-2 tablespoons of grade B organic maple syrup and blend. Add water and carry it around with you during the day, I used to add ice in the blender also. I was so sick I couldn't keep food down or function, the pulp and calories in the syrup actually have enough fiber and calories to sustain you and you don't have to eat, if you can't. It also helps regulate your blood sugar if you sip it every 10 minutes or so. I had the same issues with my first for 22 weeks but this time I have a toddler to run after and couldn't handle it. I swear by this drink a nutritionist and my accupuncturist had me try it and I am so thankful bc it was a miracle. I hope this helps
