Liz B. said that a child got major rashes from the Magic Eraser. That story was a hoax. snopes.com tells what is real and what is false. It is a great site to clarify internet stories.
glad the Dawn soap worked.
I put Aquaphor on my son after his bath and he then put his hands on the wall, leaving greasy prints. Is there any way to clean the wall?
Thanks for all the advice. I smoothed a VERY small amount of Dawn over the stained areas and then rinsed a couple times with a damp sponge. It worked perfectly! Thanks again -- I wouldn't have thought of it myself.

glad the Dawn soap worked.
try spraying oxyclean on the walls and wipe it off with a sponge or what about the mr. clean brush? Good Luck!!!!
I would try Dawn dishsoap. They use it to get oil off wildlife after oilspills:)I use it to get stains out of my kids clothes too. sometimes it's the only thing that works!Good Luck!
Magic Eraser is great... it really is magic. Not sure if it works on grease, but it works great on just about every other stain!
I also just read something in the newspaper recently about how most stains in furniture, etc., are really responsive to just plain dish soap. (the kind you keep next to your sink). Maybe that'll work!
To remove an oily stain from the walls, make a paste out of cornstarch and water and apply to area. Let dry at least two hours or so and then brush off the mess. The paste soaks up the grease or oil! Nice and easy!
I have tried the Magic Eraser on other things and LOVE it also! Especially my hubbys lunch box which gets filthy! I also use it on my daughters toys and our floors! Not sure how well it would work on oil/grease though. I know I used it when the ham I was cooking in a crock pot dropped back in the pot and splattered on my wall and the eraser actually removed some of the wall paper and the stain is still there:( If you are going to use that make sure you test it in a spot that is not noticable- behind the couch, in a closet etc since it may also remove some paints.
Good luck and let us know what you found that does work so we will not be posting it next month! lol
Many blessings to you and yours!
I'd scrub with Dawn dish liquid - that stuff is amazing on grease. It got lipstick out of my carpet!
Dawn liquid dishsoap should work. good luck!
I love Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. However, on a wall, you may have to wash it, after, with spic and span or a light cleaner because it can show streaks on walls. (But will also erase crayon marks, scuff marks, from anywhere!) Good luck!
have you tried diaper wipes? i know it sounds crazy, but it worked for us.
Try the Mr Clean Magic Eraser. I have 3 boys, and it has not failed me yet! :)
Don't know for sure it will work but we Love the Mr. Clean Magic eraser and it takes off almost anything! Plus it's cheap. You also may try whitening toothpaste if it is a white wall this takes off alot of stuff. Hope this helps
Dish soap works wonders with grease stains...
Try Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. It gets everything off the walls at my house!
How about Dawn dishwashing liquid?
try white vinegar or lemon juice or dawn dish soap
Try Mr Clean Magic Eraser. I have yet to use it on anything that it could not remove. EDIT: I see everyone else is reciommending it too. The "bad" thing about it was an incident where a child used it to wash themselves & it caused major irritation & redness. Keep out of rech of children, as with all other cleaning products.
I seem to recall hearing something bad about the Magic Eraser. I can't remember exactly what it was (something about it having some harsh/toxic chemicals in it probably). I would go with the most natural solution (in this case, the corn starch one) when dealing with anything involving your kids.
I would be happy to send you a sample of Shaklee's Basic-H2. It safe, nontoxic and I've seen it is an amazing stain remover. If you are interested, just send me your address and I will send it to you.
Shaklee's non-toxic and biodegradable Basic H2 for sure! Email me with your address for samples. You can also check out www.shaklee.net/cpeterson. My email is ____@____.com.
This is a hand cleaner used by plumbeers and auto mechanics, you can buy it at home depot, maybe target. It is called Gojo, or Fast Orange and has pumice in it. I use it to deep clean my counter and table top, that are not wood or marble, but formica. Go easy on it first to make sure that it is not going to take off too much paint and leave a mark. The directions say first put it on all by itself and rub around, you'll feel the pumice but since it is a hand cleaner, it won't hurt your hands. Then you add water, wet your hand and rub again around and around. Wipe off. It is also excellent for getting out the deep stains on old bathtubs and porcelain sinks
Try Dawn dish soap straight. Rub in then spray with oxy clean and rub again. Gently wipe the 2 products off together with cool water.
Goo Be Gone or Goff OFf works wonders!! You can find it at Target, Walmart or any other store.
You can try goo gone or goop-off either one should work
Hi Erin, be careful with the magic eraser. Although, it does work well, it will take the shine or paint off of things. I used it on my counter and table to get some pen stains out. It took the shine off of my counter and on my wood table. It will also take the paint off the wall if you scrub it too much!
