How Did You Find Out About Mamapedia?

A friend of mine "invited" me many years ago. I didn't do a whole lot at first but as the years go on, I'm on here more and more. The funny thing is, my friend has NEVER posted a question or even responded to anything.

I love this site and enjoy it a lot!!

A friend of mine sent me an invite because she thought I would be good at answering questions and helping people. And she knew I wasn't afraid to give my opinion!

By a girlfriend who left about a year after I joined. She was sick of the nastiness that was going on and the cliques that were developing....

She asked about it the other day when we spoke - told her in a way it's gotten worse with the trolls that come on. I also mentioned that now people seem to get even more upset when you answer their question based on your experience or how you would handle it and if it didn't "support" their position or blow smoke up their rear ends - they had a hissy fit! She laughed. That was some of the drama when she was on...

I have been with mamapedia since 2008 - when it was mamasource. I am sure that I checked it out for a while before I answered or asked any questions.

I stumbled upon it when it was Mamasource and my daughter was in the 5th or 6th grade. She just graduated High School so 5-6 yrs ago!!

I've met some nice moms here and made some good friends.

MP must be easier to find online now since we have so many trolls on the board. Summer and weekends are the worst.

I haven't encountered any nasty moms here. Some moms who post do want answers that are sugar coated and will get offended if you answer honestly instead of just blowing smoke. In any case, I think everyone here should be respected and I will not post anything that I would not say to someone's face.

So how hot is Houston today? My hubby is there on business this week. He is there about once a month for a week. We actually need a warehouse there. Have a great day!

Like Susan B.. A mom friend from our daughters school invited me. She knew I was the parent on campus that was called on to answer questions for the parents that were new or freaking out.

I was also known as an advocate for teachers. Don't get this wrong, I was also the parent that could honestly talk to "those " teachers that were not so great too.

I was invited many moons ago by a friend (who stumbked upon it, but never really ised it) when it was Mamasource.
I've some things get better, and some things get worse here over time.
It seems to me that the Uber Nasty Queens have been a bit sedated lately, but the trolls are definitely more frequent!

Invite from a friend when it was mamasource. Invite said they would plant a tree if I joined, so I thought, hey, one more tree in the world is a good thing. The rest is history ;)

I was actually frantically looking up something on the internet to help relieve some of my stress about a current situation in my life and lo and behold a Mamapedia question/response came up. I have been hooked ever since and have received so much helpful answers and advice since then. This is why I comment on people who post a question and then erase it. If it wasn't for the question I stumbled on I would have probably not become a part of this awesome site

I found it when Lenore Skenazy of Free Range Kids linked to one of the Mamapedia Daily articles that was particularly paranoid.

Was searching for an answer to an issue with my children and a Mamapedia answer came up.

I was googling some info on a medical problem one of my kids had and an answer came up from here. After checking the site out I joined. I love all the varied answers people give, I don't class myself as a natural Mom with all the answers to life so this site is brilliant for me lol.

I joined like in 2006 I wanna say. It was mama source than which I loved soooo much better than mamapedia. More user friendly on businesses. I lt helped me actually drastically which the one I was doing at the time. With the reviews and actually brought my webs page to the top on google. Now its changed drastically over the years
