How Many Homeschoolers Do We Have Out There?

Interested in homeschooling my 5 children (4 right now and a baby when she's older) but needing to meet people who homeschool to see about how to start out.

I am a homeschool mom trying to figure out what I am doing. I have a 6 yr old girl, 4 yr old boy and newborn boy. We made the choice to homeschool and I am having a hard time getting motivated and finding the time between feeding the newborn and other household chores. My 6 yr old can read somewhat though!

Well, my daughter is 4 months old, so a bit small to start homeschooling her yet (giggle) but I plan to. I was homeschooled all 12 grades and I'm currently studying a dressmaking course at home--does that count? (chuckle, wink)

I am new to homeschooling. This is our first year of it. My son is in 1st grade and I also have a 2yr old daughter. We are enjoying homeschooling but we are having a hard time finding some local support groups. We are also new to Corpus Christi, TX and therefore don't know anyone either. I try and do my best to take them out to play but he is missing having some friends and I am too. :) If anyone has some info they are willing to share or would like to schedule a play date please let me know. We would love to hear from you.

I am about to begin a homeschooling group in August. I placed a post about it as a business listing; I wasn't sure if offering homeschooling to other people's children would be allowed in this section.
I am a professional writer and my husband is a certified teacher. We are working together to create lesson plans, and our lesson plans cover every area of the TEKS - and then some. Teaching will be mostly through play and hands-on experience. I'm not asking for payment. I'm just trying to get a group of children together so that we won't hear the usual "socialization" complaints and so that the kids can have more fun during playtimes.

I see that you're in Midland! I am too, but my children are quite young so I'm not actively doing anything right now.

I HAVE researched our area and there are 2 groups I've found with websites!

Both are Christian groups and both are well-established! They're inexpensive to join and they do all sorts of activities! Just thought I'd throw that out there :)

I have home schooled all of my six children at one time or another. I could make lots of suggestions for study and fun.
