How Much to Pay a Teenage Babysitter

I'm in a pinch and need a sitter. I was going to ask my next door neighbor's 12 year old to come sit with my 3 year old for a couple hours while I take care of what I need to do, but don't know what I should offer to pay her. BTW - she's an extremely mature 12 year old and her parents will be right next door the whole time, so I'm not at all worried about leaving my daughter with her, so please no reprimands for leaving my child with a child :-) Just wondering how much is enough (or too much) to pay. Thanks!!

What can I do next?

Hi
We pay our sitter $10 an hour, but that seems like a lot for a 12 year old. Maybe $5 an hour. Or maybe talk to HER parents and see what they thing is fair. A friend told me that at the babysitting training course they are told to charge $5 an hour, and $1 extra per kid per hour
GOod luck

I'd say $5-$6 an hour being that young. I pay my neighbor $8 and she is 16 & I have twins

hi P., I too use the neighbor girl that is about the same age. We pay her $5.00 an hour. That is the amount her mother allows her to accept.
