Hi Ladies (and men)!

I eat wild salmon one in a while, but not enough. The mercury content scares me (as well as any fish), which is why I eat ground flax seed to get in my fish oil. But, I really like fish, and I am wondering if all kinds of fish contain mercury. I like salmon, red snapper, grouper, and tilapia. Are they safe to eat 2-3 times a week? Does anyone know how much fish we should eat per week? Thank you!

What can I do next?

there is a great site on line. Just google "mercury levels in fish" and you will get a list of many kinds of fish worldwide and their relative mercury levels.

You got two great answers so far. It depends on who you ask, btw. Dr. Mercola doesn't think we should not eat fish at all anymore but recommends taking krill oil. Vital Choice has some of the best fish around. Also, if you are able to eat grass-fed meats then you will get omega-3 (the type of oile in fish and flax seed) that way also. For example, Trader Joe's has some organic grass-fed hotdogs that are yummy and are not too expensive. Then there are also eggs available that are fed with omega-3 enriched feed.
