I am on my 8th week of post partum. I was told by my OB/GYN that it could be my period. I'm breastfeeding as well. I don't remember having my period come this early? Could it be bleeding from my post partum or an actual period?

Could be your period. I had irregular periods and skipped a lot of months before pregnancy, and then got my period within the first three months and while breastfeeding. It suprised me that my period happened so quickly.
I got my period a month after I delivered and have had it every month since, and I was breastfeeding, so there's no rules.
My son is 19 months old and I still did not get the period.And I talked with other moms that say is normal...
I got my period relatively early after birth--a couple of months. I breastfed for almost two years after that! It certainly could be your period, although that doesn't rule out other possibilities I suppose. If you haven't had other bleeding issues post partum, it seems like a strong possibility. However, working with your doctor seems like a really good idea.
I think it really varies, but I started ovulating again when my son was 3 mos, even with f/t breastfeeding.
Hi, sadly the same thing just happened to me - so not fair!!! How did we lose the no period mommy perk lottery.
