vinegar and water.......

I just found this, I don't know if your problem has been resolved. There is a product called Urine Gone. It's a spray and can be purchased at Rite Aid, I believe. If this doesn't work Cling Toilet bowl cleaner works well. I'd be very concerned about the chemicals in it. If you do this, I would rent a carpet extractor and keep rinsing with plain water to get the chemicals out. It also needs to get down in the padding. Good luck, been there and done that.

I would clean it up as much as possible with a carpet cleaner. If you don't have one use a rag, then sprinkle with baking soda and let it sit for a few minutes, then vacuum. It's very hard to stop a cat from doing it again. We had a cat that would do it every once in a while. It started off as bladder infections and medicine helped, but as she aged, she didn't have bladder infections anymore and was still wetting around the house every once in a while. I talked to the the vet about it and she said that some cats do this when they get older, it's almost as if they're "losing their minds". I didn't have the heart to put her to sleep, but she ended up passing away a couple of months later. There's usually a reason as to why cats do this, I'd definately talk to your vet. Good luck!

Hi there...yes that is no fun. My cat does it when he gets mad at me. LOL You can use a vinegar water solution..more vinegar than water. Cats hate the smell of vinegar so the kitty will stay away from the area also. Also make sure you get the area wet enough that if you having padding under your carpet that gets soaked to. Vinegar is a natural neutralizer. Then since the vinegar smells...lol Take tide laundry detergent and mix it with water and then scrub the area like you are cleaning a spot out...do this after the vinegar has dried. Hi M.~I was always told to use vinager and water to clean up pet messes. I have two puppies so I have had to use this. Its one part vinager to two or three parts water. The smell of vinager will make the cat not want to do it again and it will also clean at the same time. I hope this works for you! Happy Holidays!
