dish soap and water worked wonders on the couch like that I had. Took off every stain that ever got on it, even red kool aid
Hello everyone,
I just purchased a tan microsuade couch 2mnts ago and my wonderful children have managed to spill juice and milk on it. I was wondering if anyone knew how I can clean it without making the stain larger or causing a ring to form. Maybe a cleaning product that you have used in the past? I would really appreciate any advice on this.

I ditto the "mild soap, water, and a rag" suggestion - but if I can add just one more - DAB at it, do not rub!! I have found that this helps the fabric keep its gentle suede-y "fuzz" where as rubbing might lead to a matted down surface.
A friend spilt a small glass of something on my microsuede couch over a year ago now. It was apprx. 5 inches in diameter. She freaked and immediately ran and started dabbing with a dry, clean cloth and got a hair dryer to blow dry as she was afraid of letting it dry slow by itself due to a chance for a water ring. WOW, it dried fast and presto, no ring. Now, if anything real damp spills I get my clean cloth and hair dryer. All you need extra is an extension cord. : )
I was reading your post as I have a similar issue, so I don't have a suggestion, but I wanted to let you know that Folex is a non-toxic product. For this reason, I'm going to try that. I avoid harsh chemicals in my house.
Spot Shot works great....
Isn't it amazing how quickly they get that couch dirty? We also have the "microsuede" which isn't really suede at all. It is really just fabric. Is this how yours is? I take the cushion covers off when they get bad and wash them, then hang to dry for a while (covering the couch with a sheet) and then put them in the dryer if I have to. for the rest of the couch, I have used Woolite upholstery cleaner but we usually just use a rag and warm water. if the stains are really bad, you could add a little soap to the water. Just make sure you pull the farbic so you don;t have "wrinkles".
I spot clean with Folex. Our couch got a small rip in it within a week of having it. When the repair man was out I asked him what to use and he recommended Folex. It works great. It even got waterproof black mascara out of a tan carpet. Of course try on a small spot first to make sure there is no fading. I bought it at Home Depot.
use ivory dish soap, a clean rag, and water.
If you haven't gotten this figured out yet, get back to me I can send you a sample that I use. I was a professional seamstress/tailor and we did a lot of spot cleaning. This product works really really well. Microsuede ususally does't leave a ring, it is pretty resilient.
I've used RESOLVE and also upholstery cleaner meant for my car on my cushions.....I do the WHOLE cushion side that shows, and all 6 at once to allow a cohesive look, but they have done a fine job.
