You shouldn't need to confirm with a doctor, though it can be nice to have the experience. A positive is positive. There is no such thing as a false positive. Congratulations!
After 11 LONG months of TTC, I finally got a positive test this morning! I can't stop shaking, SO excited! So Daddy is gone at work/school all day, and I want to surprise him tonight! He didn't think I was taking the test until later this week. Any good ideas? Thank you!
Thanks everyone!! I was too impatient to go buy any supplies or anything, so I sent Dad a text at work with a picture of our daughter holding a BIG SIS sign. He said he got it right before he had to go teach his class, and he said he kept stuttering and couldn't focus on his lesson!! I think I could have been more patient if this pregnancy hadn't have taken SO long to happen for us. We got pregnant with #1 and #2 VERY fast, so this was a long 11 months! The nausea is already here, and I'm LOVING it!!

Ask him to go out with you tonight to pick up some things. Go to a parking lot that you know has spots for expectant mothers only, and pull into one of them, once he sees the sign, smile and say surprise!!!
Send pink and blue balloons to his work this afternoon!
Wrap your test in a box, and tell him the package was delivered to your front door today addressed to him.
Make a meal- baby back ribs, baby corn, baby carrots, baby bell cheese, Etc.

^^^ this is the mamapedia list of creative ways to tell him... there are 101 on there, so I'm sure you might find something!
get the m and m's u can write on and put pregnant on them
Buy a pair of baby booties and attach them to a note that says "soon daddy you will hear the pitter patter of my little feet!"
I did this and it was really cute! Congrats!!
First and foremost... CONGRATULATIONS! Call your doctor and see if you can get in to confirm ASAP. This is wonderful news!
My husband didn't believe me that I thought I was pregnant, but let's be honest... you feel "different". I did wait until I was a full week "late" before testing to be sure it was accurate. In the meantime, I purchased the books "Good Night Moon" and "Guess How Much I Love You" and put them on the table with a note saying... "some reading material to study over the next 36 weeks" and let him figure it out. It took 2 seconds and his face lit up! Those are still my son's favorite books b/c his daddy has read them to him every night for almost three years.
You could give him a card from the baby that says "Can't wait to celebrate my 1st Christmas in 2011!"
Congrats!! So exciting, what wonderful news before the holidays!! Why not get him a Santa hat, and tell him to practice this year because next year he'll be playing Santa! OR make a nice dinner, and serve him a side of that pregnancy test... get your camera ready!! CONGRATS AGAIN!! :) Best wishes for a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby!!
What a great Holiday gift!!! Congrats!!! How about a frame for a baby picture and instead of the picture you put a small sign that says coming in August 2011!
Congrats!!!
do you have a high chair? If so, put it up to the table with a teddy bear in it at dinner time and tell him to get used to it cuz there's a baby on the way!!
Congratulations! Prayers for a smooth, healthy pregnancy!!
I have 3 kids now, so I'll tell you what I did for my 3.
#1) I set the table for dinner with baby bottles instead of glasses and baby spoons instead of silverware. DH didn't get home from school until dinner time, so it was just sitting there, waiting, when he got home.
#2) I made a tee-shirt (oversized, so he could wear it 9 months later to the hospital) for our #1 son that said, "I'm a Big Brother!" It was cute, written in baseball letters, so it wasn't super obvious what it said. I did it on the computer and printed it on iron-on transfer paper. DH didn't get home until LATE that night, so I let our son sleep in it. DH got him up the next morning and I heard him say, "Oh, that's a shirt I haven't seen before. What does it say? OH!!!!" Totally cute.
#3) We'd moved into a new house a few months earlier, and the spare bedroom was a magnet for stuff without a home yet. While DH was at work, I cleaned it out and set up the crib, bedding and all. I left the door open so he'd see in when he went up the stairs. He said, "Hey, are you trying to tell me something?"
I hope that sparks some ideas for you! Congratulations!
Congrats!!
First call your doctor and get it confirmed!! Then I like the parking spot idea.
