My husband got fired in may and has been looking for a new job ever since. He worked in customer service and there have been lots of postings for positions and he has lots of interviews but nothing. I have worked on his resume and we have talked about his interviews but i just don't know. so i am thinking about getting he resume professionally done, does anyone know where to go, how much, and advise. Other question is about him being fired what should he say when they ask him why he left his job. he has ben honest and i dont want him to lie but seriously we cant survive much longer.

What can I do next?

has he tried going to a staffing agency? they would prolly at least be able to place him somewhere & he could still look for other things in the meantime, & sometimes you get lucky & actually get a good position where they might hire you on after awhile...

I like the agency idea... they can coach him etc. I don't know that a professional resume would help... more than the coaching for interviews.

He should be doing something with his time right now... like a position on a PTA Board would've been good. It would show he plays nice with others and has a good community connection. Or maybe volunteer at church, or CCA or anywhere... just to show he's not being idle. Not that taking care of your 3 your old, which I'm assuming he's doing while out of work, is idle.... but you know how employers think... they want you to be busy busy busy.

Use caution when selecting your resume preparer. I was rather disappointed with the results I got...especially considering the cost. That being said, if you do use a pro he/she will be able to help you to handle discussing job loss on a resume and in interviews.

Regarding the job hunt, depending on what type of CS experience he has you may want to take a look in retail (especially going into the holidays). For example, I've heard the shoe salesmen make very good money at Nordstrom at the Galleria.

I don't know where you are but American Airlines is almost always looking for CSR's to work in the call center (DFW, TX)... You can get medical/vision/dental/holiday pay/vacation & free (almost) air travel. http://www.aacareers.com/us/frame_index.htm?http&&amp...
