T., I don't know how much you make at work but I was able to get a divorce through legal aide for FREE. The process was called in pro per or something like that. It was for lower income people but I did not have to verify income. You do most of the foot work your self but It was great and free. Everything is handled child support hearings included. Legal aide is on Woodward at Kirby (Wayne State). I applied initally at the penobscot building. Call them up.
You can get in contact with a friend of mine. He knows a women who is resonably priced and excellent.

Hey T., Sorry about your problems. There are a couple options. You can call the Wayne County Bar Association or the Wolverine Bar Association and ask for a referral to a divorce attorney- also, check with some of the non-profit legal services providers, tehre are several that work with you if you are low (or lower) income.. Some names that come to mind, Legal Aid and Defenders Assc. and Michigan Legal Services. I believe there are also some women's services organizations out there that may help. Hope this is helpful.
